When every aspect of an election becomes a lawsuit, negative effects may follow

No kidding. It explains why criminality works for the rich.

We, the law-abiding, are supposed to know the details of all these laws, which mostly go unreported in the information sources we use every day.

So why care about the law at all? Because you might get caught?

No problem. Hire a lawyer to bounce it around the judicial system until it dies. There’s plenty of law around to keep the “issues” coming, and money is not an issue.

It’s probably tax-deductible

Sounds like selfishness in search of a philosophy to me. While I’m not religious, I am a big believer in that doctrine in most mainstream religions that we help one another, most especially those in need. And while Musk may be highly intelligent, I’ve never found him (or most other billionaires) to be particularly wise. It must be nice to be too big for humanism, I guess.

Perhaps it should be addressed as what it is. A wolf in sheep’s clothing. None of this litigation is premised on truing or fixing the vote. It’s purpose is to bias and rig the vote. The law suits have been poured all over our democracy to the point we hardly know what that democracy is anymore. That’s the intent. To fuck things up, create bogus doubt and then cheat the smoke screen created by the intended chaos.

There are no problems with it. It’s working perfectly and as planned.

There’s already a philosophy for it. Rational egoism. Ayn Rand put it all out there.

Steve Bannon has vowed to “adjudicate every battle” in an effort to “take over the election apparatus.”

Pennsylvania spent over $3.3 million in 2020, a presidential election year, litigating election-related cases. It expects to spend at least as much or more this year.

Similarly, Montana’s secretary of state has spent more than 10 times its budget on election litigation in 2022.

I thought it was conspiracy bullshit, but in that NBC news link a reporter says the police chief stated that a third person opened the door to let the police in. That’s going to need some quick explaining if true, to shut down the conspiracy mongers.

Strange definition of individual freedom. I mean, it’s great for Steve.

Awful for suburbia

It should always be noted that challenges about dates on ballots ( at least in PA) are not about about whether the ballot was received in time, but whether the voter filled-in the form by writing the date they signed their ballot. Totally a technicality.

I know we call the other side fascists a lot. But their vow to destroy govt and the deep state and elections etc. sound like Anarchists also. They sure don’t offer an alternative, or a plan, or a what-comes-after to all their destruction.

“If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns.”

In Ohio, a secretary of state candidate argues election observers should be given access to the software and source code for voting machines.

One day, not long ago in my area, there were no such things as payday lenders. Then, suddenly, they were all over the place, taking over abandoned 7-11s and Tinee Giants. And you’d never see a car in the parking lot.

I asked a colleague what was going on. He replied that the legislature had just passed laws regulating the business. Absent the law, they bore too much risk. Now, knowing the bounds, they proliferated.

Same principle.

If legislators define precisely every step of the voting process, only criminals will cheat.
