Sondland Will Say He Didn’t Know About Hunter Allegations Until Whistleblower Complaint

During his planned testimony before the House committees investigating impeachment on Thursday, U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland plans to tell lawmakers that he wasn’t aware that Hunter Biden was at the center of the Trump pressure campaign he was helping to orchestrate.

Whitewash. Thin coat. Useless.

There sure are a lot of different stories floating around that all ostensibly should match a single fact pattern.

I’m sympathetic to regular John and Jane Does who get nailed for inadvertently telling falsehoods to federal investigators, but this lot seems to have only one gear to their criminal exposure generator, and it’s overdrive.

Yep. Sondland is for the high jump, knows it, and is desperately trying to throw Rudy under the bus first. But Rudy insists he has “texts and emails”–e.g., protection against betrayal by the other capos.

Total CYA.

He’s throwing Trump under the bus while claiming he had didn’t know so what he did wasn’t illegal. Oh i believed him when he gave me that phony cover story about no quid pro quo…i totally would have said something if i knew he was doing bad things…i’m just an innocent person caught in Trump and Rudy’s criminal act…have mercy!

" he wasn’t aware that Hunter Biden was at the center of the Trump pressure campaign"

Sondland’s Contortionist audition for Cirque Du Soleil is already off to a rocky start.

So Sondland is going the Pontius Pilate route for himself and throw Extorionist-In-Chief & Grenade Giuliani under the bus. What about Christian-Hypocrite-VP et al?

Hmmmm…that sounds so self-serving! Is this par for the course from someone buying ambassadorship for $1M? What about his loyalty pledge to the Extortionist-In-Chief?

Addendum

Current and former U.S. officials say Sondland, who once said Trump offended his — “personal beliefs and values on so many levels” — hoped that he might take over for Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross if he helped Trump get damaging information against Joe Biden from Ukraine.

The article seems to contradict what the sources are saying what Sondland knows…but who knows where Sondland’s loyalty is…Trump or his wife!

That claim may face tough scrutiny, given Giuliani’s public appearances at the time in which he repeatedly raised Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Burisma.

Transferring knowledge from one context or problem area to another is difficult. Or maybe he’ll testify that he didn’t waste his time listening to Giuliani’s endless rants.

This isn’t credible, is it?

Recall the text message from Bill Taylor:

“As I said on the phone,” Taylor replied, apparently referring to the failed three-way call on Sept. 8, “I think it’s crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign.”

So…Sondland is on record knowing that Trump wanted Ukraine to investigate Burisma and also knowing that there was a political connection. But he’s going to claim that he didn’t know Hunter Biden was involved?

Obviously a lie, but hard to prove it.

Admit what you can’t deny and deny what you can’t admit. This is the mantra going forward.

He’ll be under oath. Then we’ll see.

Chump’s latest Twitter mumblings:
“Democrats are allowing no transparency at the Witch Hunt hearings. If Republicans ever did this they would be excoriated by the Fake News. Let the facts come out from the charade of people, most of whom I do not know, they are interviewing for 9 hours each, not selective leaks.”

I think he meant Parade Of People. But as long as we are talking Chump loyalists, Chump administration lackeys, R elected officials, and his voters…we can stick with Charade Of People.

The “most of whom I do not know” had me extremely gratified to read.

He is scared of “people he does not know”.

I don’t see how it hurts Rudy (or Trump) to deny that Rudy ever brought up Biden. Seems to me he is just slapping some paint on lie number 3-a-1, “It was all about the corruption”.

“During Sondland’s discussions with Giuliani about Ukraine and Burisma, Giuliani never mentioned Biden, the person familiar with Sondland’s testimony told the Post.”

So, Sondlund is personally convinced he possesses plausible deniablility, therefore will lie his ass off.

What did he think he was doing? Was he merely trying to pin the Russia investigation on Ukraine? Frankly this doesn’t line up with all of the other things we have learned. The WB report has been corroborated by all the other witnesses. If this guy thinks he is creating an off ramp out of this mess, he has made a giant mistake.

Is it normal that there’re so many rumors about “someone plans to say something” before these depositions?
