California certified its presidential election Friday and appointed 55 electors pledged to vote for Democrat Joe Biden, officially handing him the Electoral College majority needed to win the White House.
I gotta admit there’s something so much more satisfying about Biden winning again every day than if he’d just won on election night. Democracy is moving right along without Trump. We won’t be 100% out of the woods of Trump fuckery until 1/20 at noon. However, we can see the well-lit cabin, smoke sailing out of the chimney, and is that bacon I smell? Thank you to everyone who voted for Biden/Harris and thank you to Joe and Kamala.
Trump will continue to challenge the certifications, and fail.
He is currently pressuring governors and states legislatures to overturn the voters, which is failing.
He will then switch to luring electoral voters over to him, and fail.
Then he will demand that Congress not accept the EV’s, and fail.
Then he’ll pull some stunt or another, either at the inauguration, or somewhere else, to take the limelight away from Joe.
And fail.
All the while, his rhetoric will become more and more violent, until his people start shooting our people. And they will think they’re starting Civil War II, until nobody else joins them…and it will also fail.
Then he’ll announce his filing for a 2024 run. The RNC will make him stand in line like everybody else. And he’ll have to win the nomination out of a field of candidates, including Nikki Haley. By that time, he will have pissed off the establishment to such a degree, that the GOP will be split right down the middle, until he dies. And Mitch and Co. will finally pay for their continued allegiance to a despot.
All the while, he’ll be raising probably $300mil and he’ll try his best to use that money to pay off his TrumpOrg debt.
Yeah, but what about those North Korean ships bringing illegal Venezuelan ballots in through Maine? Do you hear a fucking peep from Red China-compromised concerned Susan Collins? Huh? HUH?!
Here are a few interesting points about this last election:
So far, a total of just over 158 million votes have been counted for all presidential candidates. That’s an increase of nearly 17% from the 2016 Presidential election.
Donald Trump has 74.2 million votes so far, which is 11.2 million or 18% more than he got in 2016.
Joe Biden has 81.3 million votes so far, which is 23% more than Hillary Clinton got in 2016 but only 17% more than Barack Obama got in 2008.
This is the first time since 1840 that an incumbent President has increased his popular vote total yet lost the popular vote overall (in 1840, Martin Van Buren also got more votes than he got in 1836 but lost the election)
Biden currently has a lead of just over 7.1 million votes over Donald Trump.
In spite of that rather significant lead in the popular vote, Biden really only won the Electoral College by the three states in which he won by the narrowest margins. They were: Wisconsin, which he won by 20,682 votes, Georgia, which he won by 12,670 votes and Arizona, which he won by 10,457 votes.
So, in reality, Joe Biden won the Electoral College (hence the Presidency) by a total of 43,802 votes in those three states.
