Ho hum. Grow up. Dingel had been dying for 10yrs and left this mortal coil 10mos ago. Plus, Ms. Dingel doesn’t read my good advice here…or anywhere. She’s now political; she should act like it. John D himself would have done something similar to my advice, as he was a fighter.
When Trump attacks the dead and they do not respond he declares victory and they are cowards.
The rotten, putrid GOP slogan really has forever been, “Nice Guys Finish Last”.
Again, I still think we should collectively make a huge show of dismay and anger over republican men killing themselves.
If we can convince enough of them that it really upsets us, I am quite convinced a number of them will start shoving their beloved guns in their mouths and pulling the triggers. To “own those libs”.
John Dingell is most assuredly not in hell; however, the rest of us are…
If Hell is a place that really exists, I’m sure Trump will be turning on a spit there soon enough.
I suspect I’ve known a few guys in my lifetime who were assholes in the same league as Trump. All guys. The kinds of guys, when you hear that they’ll be at a party you were looking forward to, you change your plans and don’t go. When you see them walking up the street in your direction, you turn around and duck into the nearest alley.
But to stand in line for hours to listen to such an asshole, and cheer and laugh? Never seen that. I get that it’s an authoritarian cult. But man is it weird to see it in real life.
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help
.
In fairness, there is a point there.
Thunberg IS an activist, by her own choosing, and has put herself in the public spotlight (Thank goodness, too!).
Barron has not.
I think trying to defend Thunberg by saying she is just a 16 year out autistic girl really does Thunberg a lot of disservice. She is so much more than that.
True, but when Republicans invoke the “will of 63 million votes” they aren’t making a narrow argument that Trump won by the rules of the election, but that Trump’s legitimacy comes from the amount of votes he got. Its entirely proper and, in my view necessary, to counter that argument with his opponent actually got more votes.
That doesn’t mean that Trump isn’t the duly elected President, but it does mean that he can’t claim his legitimacy comes from number of votes he got.
Stenny Hoyer pointed that out yesterday.
You’re right - the majority’s votes were ignored. They are just projecting from their side because the man was never legimately elected.
As a Michigander, this one really pissed me off yesterday as I watched this moron rant and think this was somehow humorous to share with that crowd. He greatly miscalculated.
Dingell is a Michigan treasure. People may not know from other states how instrumental his leadership was over the years for so much great legislation that many depend on to this day.
Only fools would think this vile little man with the thin skin and vengeful attitude can take a grieving widow and make her pain so worse as some kind of plus for his campaign. Words like his can and do hurt.
Still so sorry for your loss, Debbie. Please take the time to heal from this pain he’s inflicted on you. Surround yourself with the love and appreciation many of us feel for you at this time of loss. Your husband was an American hero. Stay strong. Michiganders got your back.
As a New Yorker who’s regularly seen this guy in the news since the 1980’s, I always assume Trump can go lower - and will.
The ones who aren’t already tired of him, which may in time include members of his base who grow disillusioned. It’s hard to say with cults, but the same way children have a moment of reckoning when they realize their parents are flawed, cult members can sometimes have that realization about their leaders. It’s the constant reinforcement from others in the cult that keeps those thoughts down. The more that reinforcement weakens, the more likely people are to be able to pull away.
"I said, ‘that’s okay, don’t worry about it.’ Maybe he’s looking up, I don’t know.”
Mister Class.
I keep hearing that he has the ‘common touch’ that joe average loves. I don’t seem to remember Clinton, who was also noted for that quality, saying this to a grieving widow.
With the aid of McConnell and the assistance of Pence.
He brought Barron up himself during his rant rally, saying Barton could draw a bigger crowd in NYC than Elizabeth Warren. Melanie has yet to tweet a complaint.

She missed an opportunity.
“Hmm. I think he’s in heaven, but you let me know when you get to hell, you cowardly sack of shit.”
John Lithgow has a new book of doggerel poetry called Trumpty. In his introduction, he asks Trump supporters to honestly look at their responses to several questions. I don’t remember them precisely, but they ran something like:
- Would you want to work at a company where he was in charge?
- Would you want to leave your current job and work in the White House?
- Would you trust him with your life savings?
- Would you want to sit next to him at a dinner or picnic, carpool with him, or drive cross-country with him?
- Would you trust him with your toddler or your best friend’s teenage daughter?
- Would you want him to speak at your memorial service?
Lithgow sums up in 6 or 8 brief questions the true elements that we find distasteful in him. Worse Trumph has taken those qualities and expanded them to his official duties, and gone so far over the line that he’s now been impeached. When you sit down at the dinner table with your crazy uncle, keep those in mind!
