Short Responds To Russian Meddling Reports | Talking Points Memo

Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff Marc Short struggled to provide a straightforward response Sunday when pressed on President Trump’s reaction to reports of Russia’s interference in the 2020 presidential election to benefit his re-election.

“Let me correct you on several fronts. First of all, I think it’s disconcerting that the briefing that you mentioned was a classified briefing in the House,” Short said. “That’s one of the President’s concern that [Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D-CA)] committee continue to leak selective information.”

Hell, Trump publicly asked for their help.

“ Russia , if you’re listening ,” said Trump , looking directly into a television camera, “I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing” .

Leave it to Team Trump to sow enough chaos to render this story “minor”

Well, it’s a bitch trying to defend the indefensible…

A few cards short of a full deck, but more than enough baloney for a great sufficiency of sandwiches.

I guess because “We’re counting on it.” is just too on the nose?

You know who didn’t have a problem defending the indefensible, the GWB and crew. And my theory as to why they were successful is that when they opened their mouths to speak they didn’t constantly speak in an ever flowing river of lies. Add that the people GWB surrounded himself with had reputations and history, not incompetent boobs who never held public office before.
We really need to come up with a catch phrase for Trump and incompetency, similar to the aftermath of Watergate with, "It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up "

So if we keep Marc Short answering we’ll be able supply the school lunch programs?

That reminds me of this from a couple years ago:

They’re going to have to add twirling flaming batons with that tap dance to keep us bamboozled.

how about, “It is the crime and the cover up” ?

I really meant we need to add some form of the word incompetent in there. If I’m supposed be befuddled I’d like them to do a better job of it.

A lie is an attempt to deceive.

They point to Russia’s desire to see Sanders nominated and call attention to Sander’s honeymoon in Moscow. First, that was under a completely different Russian government. (The current occupant of the Kremlin is a fascist kleptocrat) Second, they’re aiding the Sanders campaign because they think Trump can easily beat him.

Sanders has his own vanity to blame for the first. He’s nothing but a modern Al Smith Democrat but he likes the bunting of “Socialist”.

Check it out.

Most here agree with its principles and agenda.

The Trump regime’s surrogates literally disseminate Russian lies about election interference on TV. This is where we are at. An “administration” seeking to suppress or lie about Russia’s obvious efforts to help its asset Trump.

Meanwhile, GOP elected officials, especially Moscow Mitch, who wish to benefit from Russia’s invasion, don’t lift a finger to protect our elections.

Never in my life did I imagine an entire political party’s leadership being a bunch of dirty stinking traitors. It’s insane.

And of course, the smile never left his face. I’ve been unable to watch this fellow since he was a Trump stand-in on these programs. Periodically, Mr. Pence lets him out, I suppose.
