The Senate passed its massive emergency relief package for the COVID-19 outbreak late Wednesday night.

Of course it was only unanimous because Rand Paul was unable to vote.

Thank You Nancy and Thank you Chuck for stonewalling Moscow Mitch and Leningrad Lindsay who were abhorred at the thought of people actually having enough unemployment to survive.
This will reap it’s own reward as the money is returned to the economy

I don’t support Bernie running for president, but I don’t hate him because he is either.
I want him to stay in the Senate because of floor speeches like this yesterday when he was speaking to Republicans who were hesitant to vote for extended, augmented unemployment benefits:

The article printed out the best part of his snark if you can’t stand to watch him waving his arms around.

His arm-waving comes through in the article. I couldn’t read past the first paragraph.

Sigh. And here I was hoping the House would improve the bill instead of rubber stamping it. There’s a massive amount of banking deregulation in the bill whilst doing nothing to protect us from the banks. But hey, the FDIC will now backstop all deposits at the banks, which means they are 100% protected no matter how much they gamble.

I wish the Senators had read this paper first before voting. Seems like the US a) has yet to absorb the lessons from Asia, and b) get serious, and I mean serious, about testing.

After the bill was passed, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) announced that the House would vote on the legislation at 9 AM EST on Friday, which will be done by voice vote.

And Friday afternoon, the bill will be signed into law in a ceremony in which each and every GOP Senator and House member will be required to crowd into a room in the WH and raise a hymn of praise to Deal Leader as the bill is signed.

The bill is not designed to protect us from the banks.

It is designed to protect the banks from the coronavirus.

Silly @isepick.

It’s not predicated that either be of the positive sort.

Over 3 million jobless claims last week,Trump points to numbers, lets see what he has to say about those numbers.I am in that number myself.

3.28 million unemployment rate for one week…just released data. Twice what was forecast .
This bill can’t kick in fast enough…with all its flaws.

Taking that back.

In news rooms across the country I bet before announcing those numbers there were a lot of “Are You Sure”
moments.

Sanders, this is where he shines! Standing up for poor working people. Who else does that? The Rethugs didn’t want the lowest earners to get any money or at the very least 1/2 of what someone making up to $75,000 would get.
