I personally believe Barrett gets approved and does indeed vote to void the ACA, Roy.v.Wade, voting rights act, and about any progressive act she can persuade others to join her in voiding. Whatever else she is, she is a christian fundamentalist, and that must be her main driver forward as it has clearly been in her past.
What I also believe is the Democrats can win repeatedly on that message and pass ever more powerfully progressive acts and programs, effectively reversing everything she and her reactionary brethren void.
Gotta believe something good can come of this or just cough the whole thing up.

I think the last part remains to be seen.
What I think would be an interesting line of questioning is that since she’s an originalist and has argued against the PPACA then is she willing to rule against the PPACA in the time of a epic pandemic? That is is this one of the laws that we can live with and help people keep insurance, or toss it away and let those that had COVID and recovered but now may fall into the pre-existing condition category.
And as she has commented on several cases in her academic writings then I don’t think she can weasel out of talking about her views on the subject, or I hope that they don’t let her wiggle out of this.

Despite what Josh has written, Democrats must ask some tough questions, foremost of which is the one Cory Booker wants to ask. I think there should be a full contingent of Democratic Senators to grill her in the Judiciary Committee hearing, and that they should then walk out before the vote, which is predetermined. Same for the full Senate hearing: ask tough questions and walk out before the vote. Let Democratic Senators go back home and campaign while Republicans are doing their best to make her seem holier than Mother Teresa and more brilliant than Einstein. Put the entire burden on Republicans when there’s no more ACA and no more Roe v. Wade.
Participate in questioning, boycott the rubberstamping, and spend as much time campaigning as humanly possible.

The fact that she would accept the nomination now disqualifies her. While I’d like the Dems to boycott the proceedings, it would be very interesting to have her answer such questions. Why do you want this position. Why now? What do you think about Merrick Garland’s treatment? Do you think that was fair?

Nope, definitely should not revolve around a single case. In fact there are a whole bunch of cases we have in mind for her and the other right- thinking justices to rule on.
