Well he had to go there. Perhaps he ought to talk to Corrie Booker and Kamala Harris, or the CBC members, who are all after all Uncle Toms… and a full 7% of African-Americans agree with Senator Scott:

p.s. from yesterday’s NYT poll

“This is pure, pure race politics at its worst.” - Sen. Tim Scott/R

Scott being NOT in the committee itself and the sole African American senator left in the GOP
= GOP is playing the race politics with him!

" Sen. Tim Scott Accuses Democrats Of Playing ‘Race Politics’ In Police Reform Bill"

That’s his raison d’etre in the GOP.

And the lies continue. The Democrats did not support this bill for two reasons. 1) It did not go far enough and only “incentivized” to police to stop brutalizing citizens, and 2) Moscow Mitch has proven he cannot be trusted. If the Democrats had agreed to let this bill go to the floor, all of their proposed amendments would have been subject to the 60 vote rule. There is no way McConnell would let that happen. If he was serious, he would have involved Democrats in the drafting of the bill in committee rather than a take it or leave it bill. So, they left left it. Good on them.

Sorry babe but ‘race politics’ is when a party uses a black man to put out a ‘bill’ that doesn’t do jack sht to ‘reform’ the police. You know Tim…like a ‘black’ figurehead. C’mon.

From the above, ““I think they took a leap back because they don’t want this president to have a victory on another serious issue confronting the minority communities,” Scott told the “Fox & Friends” hosts. “This is pure, pure race politics at its worst.””

To call this bill that was introduced a victory for minority communities is a leap at best. How many black and brown americans support this bill over the house bill? crickets right. Look it is fair for you to go into your safe space at fox and decry this as race politics because it makes the slightly racist fox GOP audience feel good about what you are doing on capitol hill, but the reality is the only GOP to fight for black americans was Lincoln and that was a loooooooong time ago. This is why you will hear GOP members proudly bring up Lincoln why yelling at people for taking down confederate statues and monuments (I mean really, name a country that has statues to traitors of this nation? Who does that?)

The facts are the a plurality of Americans want change. A plurality thinks many situations should not first involve a badge and a gun (and the attitude that comes with it). A plurality of Americans wants more/better mental health services in our communities. A plurality supports rehab initiatives for those in our communities struggling with drugs or other problems. A plurality believes this government can and should work for all of us, not just some of us.

And a plurality will show you in November.

That he’s willing to perform in this manner would lead a cynical person to believe that he’s just another Republican opportunist.

Another man who’s lost his way and his soul. Pathetic and sad.

I think you misspelled the Senator’s first name. The correct spelling should be Tom.

Being a pasty white guy, I honestly do not think I - or any other pasty white guys - have the right to use the term “Uncle Tom” when referring to someone like Tim Scott.

So I’ll just refer to Tim Scott as a lying Republican asshole, since Tim Scott IS a lying Republican asshole.

Apparently Senator Scott has no mirrors to look at…

good question: Here’s another …

How many Senators who received a majority of the black vote in their state contributed to the Scott bill… answer is Zero. Not even Scott got a majority of black voters in SC…

You could see this coming. I listened to an interview yesterday with Marsha Blackburn, Senator from Tennessee, and her mantra was that Democratic opposition to the bill was, “not about the bill but about the person.” She stopped short of calling it racism, but she kept saying Scott’s name, and he was clearly the person she was referring to.

As the Speaker said yesterday…

“Our bill does something, their bill does nothing.”
