John Thune, the second-highest ranked Republican in the Senate, said Wednesday that the impression coming from top Ukraine diplomat Bill Taylor’s testimony is “not a good one.”

I’ve been waiting for months to be in a position to say this…But here goes:

Now is the time for Mike Pence to swing into action.

If the Republicans jump ship it will be all at once. I would say 15% chance of removal of office as of today. This can change quick.

RepubliCONS distancing themselves from the Russian-Installed-Criminal-In-Chief with words after three long years of aiding/abetting might be self-preservation on their part as opposed to patriotism.

But until they make the Russian-Installed-Criminal-In-Chief an IMPEACHED CONVICT, its all cheap talk and no action!

Mother needs to give permission before Mike Pence goes about swinging anything. Many people say so.

OMG those words took me back to Carole King. I have never been so enamored with piano as when I listened to women like Carole and Laura Nyro.

“But I would say also that until we have a process that allows for everybody to see this in full transparency, it’s pretty hard to draw any hard and fast conclusions.”

Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.

At this point, anyone who thinks that the Trump/Ukraine axis is anything but blatantly illegal and immoral is beyond any hope of redemption.

The problem with that is, many who are in control of the outcome of this debacle are in that category of beyond hope of redemption.

There are so many toes in the water right now, we’ll get tired of toes.

Your statement would likely be true for any president, of course, but compounding that is Trump’s innate requirement to act out more and more as he feels more and more cornered. Positive feedback is a bitch.

This is just some ass covering, he turned right around and called the process bad just like the rest of the Republicans are. But, this may indicate he’s getting some pressure from voters, and so he felt the need to make a comment that said this would be bad IF is is like it sounds.

We may see a bit more of this, Taylor’s testimony was devastating (and we don’t know all of it), and it also calls into question at least one person who was supporting Trump (Sondland). It probably also gives Democrats room to investigate more, there’s really something there and the public is growing aware of it. If that continues we may finally see the (cowardly) Republicans back away from Trump to save their own skins, and then get to watch the right wingers go bananas on them.

I guess “not good” is one way to describe it when the President of the United States is on the phone talking like a cheap mobster trying to intimidate a witness.

Who knows? Things can happen…floods…locust…

This could be Trump working closely with Obama to root out every corrupt Republican in the U.S. of A.

I think that’s about right. What they appear to be waiting for at this point is to see if any of this is starting to erode his base support. While I don’t think any one scandal will do that, I do believe the feeling of no longer “owning the libs,” a sense that they’re no longer “winning” could do just that.

Yes, and that process is called an impeachment trial. Thune should ask McConnell about it.

Trump needs to gather all the Republicans and use his great and unmatched wisdom - and, of course, his universally-recognized charm - to get them back in line.

Perhaps McConnell’s idea for a quick impeachment trial will soon transition to a push for resignation. Get the tax returns and financials and it’s almost guaranteed.

Gee Senator Thune, you do realize that the GOP controlled Senate could be conducting its own, completely transparent, investigation into the Ukraine matter (and tons of other stuff). You could be using your position to demand documents from the White House, and get public testimony from people like Rudy Giuliani (we must assume that the President will waive attorney/client privilege, given that he did nothing wrong), Rick Perry, Mike Pompeo, Mick Mulvaney and every other high level official involved in this controversy.

I mean, what could be more transparent than Senate hearings done under oath and in public featuring the people that have been in charge of this thing…
