he will not attend the RNC “because he believes the delegate spots should be reserved for those who have not had that privilege before as he has had.”

“…also, I don’t wanna die.”

Flaming hypocrite, but we knew that from his impeachment babble.

MSNBC checked with all of the 80+ Year old R senators. The others all said that they may attend. Nobody was a firm yes, as far as I saw.

“Well, Tonto, it looks like they’ve got us surrounded.”

“What do you mean by ‘us’, white man?”

It’s going to be fun watching the other non-attending GOPers come up with their own lame excuses without mentioning the virus.

They’re probably pissed at Alexander for using the “give others a chance to attend” excuse before anyone else could use it.

What happened to the usual GOP “want to spend more time with my family” dodge?

Considering that the average age of these senators is somewhere between decrepit and the crypt, it would be wise for most of them to decline to attend. I’m sure Devin Nunes and Jim Jordan and some of the other usual suspects will go and more than make up for the loss of enthusiasm.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There will be many state delegates finding excuses to spend time with their family, passing the baton to alternates. Many of those alternates will then be looking for volunteers to take their place.

I read an article a while back somewhere, about how the state GOP in Indiana is already getting nervous that by the time it gets down to “volunteers,” they may be sending people to the convention who aren’t actually 100% Trump supporters. Stock up on the popcorn early, this is going to be fun.
