A possibility. Roberts and one other squisher (Barrett, Kavanaugh, maybe Gorsuch) were ready to deny cert but Alito’s head exploded and he began to threaten them with bodily harm so they granted it to placate him, expecting to affirm the lower court’s decision.

The Admin should ask the court directly if Biden entered a duel with Trump, not unheard of in our nations history, and fatally wounded him, would that official act be free of criminal prosecution?
What about theft? Could Biden officially confiscate the assets of a Trump family member? Or does Biden need to restrict his crimes to preventing the Congress from accepting Trump electors?
And because Kamala is also a constitutional officer of the executive branch, can she also shoot Trump in the face? Or does the VP need to kill the president at which point she would instantly become the president and attach the immunity for crimes.

I mean, if I were a SC Justice I would want to rule on this even if I completely disagreed with Trump’s argument. This is a big case with huge ramifications, so it seems natural that the Supreme Court should put in the final verdict, so to speak.

It’s not though. It doesn’t even meet the criteria the Court is supposed to use for taking up a case.
There is no disagreement between the circuits, the DC circuit controls DC where the president typically completes official actions. And there is no serious misapplication of the law in the lower court ruling.
There is zero reason for them to take it up other than to delay justice and harm the public.
