Roberts is really the most contemptible of the bunch. âVotingâ with the liberals when he knows his side his safe. At least the cretins are honest about their cruelty.
More than anything else, (other than proving that Senator Collins is an idiot) this move shows just how inane and short sighted the USSC is with this move. If any conservative on the Court thinks this puts an end to this issue, they will be shocked and surprised.
The majority of this country supports the right to choose. Yet, a small, corrupt, and conservo-crhistianist cult of GQPers in Texas have attacked the majority rights and managed to create strife and trouble for all women and men.
There will be riots. There will be protests. There will be attacks, verbal and otherwise, not just on Texas legislators, but on the current members of the Supreme Court. (This is NOT a threat, but a prediction, given how emotional this topic this). But instead of a bunch of lunatics who feast on Fox and OAN lies and conspiracy theories, the protesters will be John and Jane Doe, hailing from the town of âAll Overâ USA.
Worst of all,(especially for the Court) the credibility of the Supreme Court of this country has just dropped to â0.â That will spread to other topics and decisions handled by it, and will eventually lead to people taking justice into their own hands.
For decades (actually four decades) Liberals have been loathe to stand up to the conservative crap weâve been dealing with since Newt the Grinch first tried to destroy our democracy. We sit back and complain, but do little else. At the same time, conservatives have become used to liberals sitting back, accepting this result as a fait accompli, and taking the attacks on our democracy, again and again, without protest or strong counter-reaction. That will no longer be the case and those conservatives (including members of the USSC) may be shocked to learn that many liberals are also armed. Enough of them will start thinking that when our system fails us, it no longer is worth saving - and that will be a very bloody, deadly and regrettable day.
Thanks Supremes. You brought a deadly future to this country. You own what will happen.

I donât require you to have either. But I know that court quite well, and I am confident that for their own political preferences they wonât approve vigilante standing because they will not want Democrats to ever be able to wield that tool.

Just wait⌠we will certainly see moves by other states to attempt versions of the Texas âlawsuitâ mentality applied to all sort of âdemocraticâ tenants and beliefs. Imagine suing someone for attending a religious service in a Mosque⌠for shopping in a store that sells middle eastern food stuffs, for driving a Toyota made in Japan (like my truck) for any number of off the wall things. There could easily be a law making it possible for one citizen suing another for votingâŚperiod. Government not involved so no Constitutional infraction is registered.

Unlike the other 5, Roberts does actually follow some jurisprudence when making his calls.
This case, he was bothered by the whole vigilante enforcement mechanism.
Give him a clean case where he can just overturn roe, heâs there. But they keep throwing poison pills in the bills that would have ramifications elsewhere, thatâs generally where his line is drawn.

What would stop a democrat from engaging in this bizarre lawsuit mentality now? Why does it need to be restricted to just abortion? Why not apply this nutball idea lawsuit to all sorts of other things that occur in daily living? Why not apply it to suing someone for wearing that mask in public?
This has to be the stupidest most hypocritical maneuver ever done by a state legislature.
