Schumer is actually taking candidate trumpet’s call to defund law enforcement seriously and he shouldn’t do that. There’s nobody in this country who’s gonna say, yeah, I’m with trumpet on that, no more police and def no more police responding to deadly shootings. As to Gym and his weasel words, who’s taking him seriously except EmptyG and Gaetz, in other words, the usual suspects.

Great! I agree. Time to assemble sound bites for 2024.

At some point it will sink in that the House GOP’s majority is thin, GOP’s policies are shit and a lot of them are in Biden-friendly territory.

In addition, Biden and Schumer are going to roll out the legislation goodies already passed.

Oh…and Gym will be Gym.

I dunno… I think he should take it seriously, but perhaps the resolution can call on condemning such “stupid” rhetoric from a supposed candidate for US President. Ridicule the ridiculous in straightforward language when possible.

Note…I’m at work and we are currently blocking access to Google Docs, so I can’t read the letter to see if there’s any suggested text for the resolutions. So if it also says what I suggested, I apologize

Defunding federal law enforcement is every Plutocrat’s wet dream. That and eliminating regulatory agencies.

We will all be living in Uhlein boxes if the GOP ever tastes executive power again.

’s call for defunding federal law enforcement agencies is a baseless, self-serving broadside

Has he ever said or done anything that wasn’t a baseless, self-serving broadside?

Joe has landed on Ireland, and it’s going to be a great boost for his 2024. His great great grandfather lived there and just like JFK and his visit to Ireland, voters here will only love Joe more.

As to GOOPs and their soundbites, make it stop!

No, he is squeezing GOP senators where it hurts. They will have to choose between voting to “Defund Law Enforcement” or condemning Trump. No matter which way they vote they will be attacked. This is pure distilled politics. Nobody is taking Trump seriously.

If not for FL Gerrymandering and NY tomfoolery in the NOV 22 elections, we would have kept the House.

OT sort of, but have we asked Senator Cruz how she’ll vote?

The story here at TPM about Schumer opens with this. IMO opinion, it’s toothless. A resolution condemning TFG? We do it here everyday, and it’ll be that effective.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is planning to introduce a resolution next week condemning former President Donald Trump’s call to “defund” federal law enforcement agencies, according to a Tuesday letter he sent to his colleagues.

“Donald Trump’s call for defunding federal law enforcement agencies is a baseless, self-serving broadside against the men and women who keep our nation safe,” Schumer wrote in the “Dear Colleague” letter. “The former President and his allies in Congress must not subjugate justice and public safety because of their personal grievances.”

That’s a very subtle way of damaging those GOOPs who’ll need to take a stand.

Didn’t Republicans do the same thing to Democrats back when they held the gavel? And didn’t they demagogue the Democrats as weak on crime to great effect in a previous election?

I think this is smart politics for a number of reasons. It puts Republicans on the defensive and possibly separates them for their party leader - Trump. It also innoculates the Democrats from Republicans running the same playbook against them. At least to a degree.

Watch out Schumer you might be next on the defund list.
