But it’s hypobolic if it gets under your skin?

48% of all republicans agreed they were mad as a hatter.

Deplorable numbers…

In the past Manchin has said that accepted voter ID could be something like a utility bill so I think it would be be a way to actually counteract the suppressive voter ID laws that have been upheld in many states. It also takes away a key Republican talking point.

Huh! I was trying to respond to @rickjones. That’s what I get for doing shit on my phone while my dog was in the vet’s office.

Anyway, any definition of “trajectory” that applies to Mitch’s recent ineffective blustering and stamping his tiny turtle feet suits me. Is his head starting to retract deeper into his shell yet?

If it ends with one turtle smashed on the pavement, I’ll take it.

I think Schumer is also well aware of the timing here. Where a mid-September passage allows much of the positive effects to start taking place, and be felt just as the upcoming mid-terms are starting to register in voters’ minds.

Stunning.
Has anyone alerted the Guinness people?

Newt only approves of grandstanding bullshit about the sanctity of marriage while he simultaneously impeaching Clinton and screwing his own intern…asshole

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) carried out a series of procedural moves… to tee up a new voting rights push…

A lot has been said about how the traitor Trump took us close to losing democracy. A little-appreciated corollary to that is, had the Democratic Party not pushed to make voting easy and widespread, democracy would be long gone by now.

Vote for democracy. Vote Democratic.

So you abandoned your dog at the vet and you have no empathy for turtles being thrown out of a plane?

You know that is serial killer behavior. Just sayin’.

Rounds was making the rounds at the Sturgis superspreader on his Harley.

Kidding aside, he Twitted a statement against (and not present for) the the infrastructure bill as he was taking his wife to the Mayo Clinic for cancer therapy.

Godspeed to his wife, but he is still an idiot.

I’m against voter ID at all, but I have to say that Manchin’s proposal that includes a wide range of things like utility bills, etc, seems like a better compromise to me than Klobuchar’s suggestion of signature matching, which we’ve seen from this past year has been rife with problems. Am I missing something? Why would Klobuchar be pushing for signature matching?

I agree signature matching is not a good idea. People get old, people really need to go see the eye doctor and get their eyes checked.

frankly, I wouldn’t be able to match my own signature from 10 years ago, even if I were trying while looking at a sample of it. My muscles have just learned a different way to sign over time.

Not to mention that the people “judging” whether the signatures are accurate are not remotely qualified to make those kinds of determinations. It’s just a bad idea all around.

If (and only if) “voter ID” is whatever documentation is sufficient to register in the first place than I could be okay with it. I do worry that there will be more obstacles for poor people than are obvious sitting in a dc conference room.

I’m also wondering how you do voter ID when voting by mail
