This, exactly. It’s this kind of emotional blackmail where Bernie and his followers can behave in outrageous ways, but if we call it out we’re “alienating” them. There’s no worry for me about that since they come pre-alienated, which is why they are attracted to conspiracy mongers like Sanders in the first place.

So you’re equating being a member of the Sanders “cult” with being a racist? No that’s not quite it I realize but there’s something off in your analogy that I can’t quite put my finger on, and I’m not sure it’s really worth the effort to parse it out.
Something along the lines of whether someone is a racist can be determined fairly objectively and whether someone being a fervent supporter of a candidate is a member of a cult quite a bit less so.
It just strikes me that calling supporters of the candidate you don’t support a member of a cult isn’t very helpful, which is all I was getting at.
And connected to my other comment, all political junkies could easily be termed members of a cult. To moderate/temper that comment any fervent supporter of any candidate comes off as a member of a cult from a certain perspective.
The “cult” of not-Bernie seems to have at least as many members as the “cult” of Bernie, for example.
But I don’t think it’s very useful to call either of them cults.

If it’s not all about Bernie, he makes sure it is always all about Bernie. For a 2-delegate difference, he wants everyone to focus on the unmitigated clusterfuck of the IA caucus again, spending resources to try to untangle the mess and re-canvass unreliable tallies. Why? Because he is a selfish, ungracious person and can never just move on.

The Bernie cult is ungettable. They alienated themselves. Let them stew in their raging single-minded jealousy and spite while the actual Democratic party chooses its nominee. If it is not their savior, the cult will refuse to vote anyway.
The Bernie bots are just the flip side of the trumpers. Same tactics, same sense of victimization, same support from Russia. This is what we’ve all seen for the last 3 years. The bizarro caucus procedures for IA were set up specifically to please Bernie, and now he shits on it anyway. There’s nothing that can be done to appease these guys.
Flame me all you want. This is apart from Bernie the candidate, who has his own strengths and flaws. If Bernie is the nominee, I will vote for him.

Because it’s not based on vote % — it’s the system of allocation which everyone knew in advance. Caucuses are stupid — no wonder the Bernie Bros love them.
