Sanders To Call For Partial Recanvass Of Iowa Results, AP Still Won’t Call Race Winner Due To Errors

2020 candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will call for a partial recanvass of the Iowa caucus results on Monday after the Iowa Democratic Party (IDP) projected 2020 candidate former South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg the winner of its catastrophic caucuses on Sunday.

The joys of modern technology. But then again to assume all other elections were total correct might be an even sillier thought!

Sore loser syndrome, just the same as the last time. I await the I was cheated nonsense.

Bernie is right to do this.

Though I also remember someone else recently saying that a partial recanvass should be done and one of the candidates’ group of supporters getting very upset at it being evidence of the process being rigged…

Can’t remember who that was though…

Yup
The sensible adult says: That was a mess , Lets move on , Only 170,000 people anyway

Not a sensible adult

Did he start shaking his finger at Iowa?

Now we are finding out that some precincts did not get counted in the statewide totals, while others were double-counted. Seriously nobody is that incompetent. This was done deliberately.

Stupid. He should have better things to do. As do Iowa Democrats. Like beating Joni Ernst.

If the AP is still refusing to call it there is still an objective reason to consider a recanvass.
Regardless of what that says about Sanders.

Well—to be reluctantly honest, under the circumstances almost anyone not declared the winner might reasonably ask for a second look.

SERIOUSLY? 26.2 vs 26.1 is what you want to take time and resources to rehash?
Look, the primary process is the ultimate “sausage making” exercise - and the Iowa caucus is like weird “craft / boutique” sausage making - inexact and interpretative … and probably best only consumed in small doses.

It is way past time to turn the page … if Bernie allows himself to look like he cannot properly prioritize and focus on the huge important stuff immediately ahead … he will open the door to being view as a relentless fixated argumentative curmudgeon.

Maybe I’m just unlucky or there’s something in the water but if you’re ever in my area get in touch and I’ll take you to meet some folks. :grinning:

Bernie doing everything he can to make sure his deluded cult followers think the election is rigged against him. I really cannot stand this guy or his slavish followers.

What? Hoping for 2 more delegates so he can say, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, I won, you lose.
I’m sorry but if there’s this much trouble, this early on, it’s not a good sign.

I’ll buy that. What I won’t buy are stupid conspiracy theories about rigging. I see we already have one here this morning.

Stupid.

Well you know it was a clusterf…k. If votes were miscounted or not counted one might say there was voter supression. But hey it is just a small state, GOP one at that!

Never ascribe to conspiracy that which can be explained by incompetence.
Stupidity is far more common than evil genius.

So the local caucus volunteers deliberately miscounted a confusing process? And were they rogue, or did they recieve directives from the evil DNC and Tom Perez? If so, by what mechanism were they threatened or bribed? I bet the Clintons had a hand in this somehow, amirite?

I just hope they pick a conspiracy theory and stick to it. Is this on the Iowa Democratic party for rigging the election so that Bernie lost the delegate count, or is this on the DNC for calling for a recount after Bernie won the popular vote? Can’t be both of those things, but I sure have seen them both argued!

Congratulations.
You’re doing a good job of alienating any rational Sanders supporter in two short sentences.
Maybe you should go for a trifecta.
