Agreed. If Trump loses reelection and the Democrats take the Senate, but an opening comes up before inauguration, I have no doubt McConnell will try to fill it.

Evan, for many on the liberal/left RBG has become a sort of mythic superhero figure, and they are unwilling to acknowledge the truth you speak.
As long as it isn’t my fault - or your fault. It’s easier to move around issues that way.

RBG’s advanced age and illness scare all sentient Americans. We all wish her the best, and fear she could be replaced by a radical extremist far right winger any time this year.
We know Moscow Mitch would ram a radical through the Senate in 2020, even if it’s after the election and Don the Con is a lame duck. The “Garland Rule” will be tossed aside and replaced with the Moscow Mitch Rule, which provides that there are no rules for Republicans beyond power and corruption.
Please recover RBG, and stay on the Court until January, 2021.

Maria’s “Sunday Morning Futures” is becoming the best Sunday morning show.
Nunes is up now, saying he’s going to court after Thanksgiving to file suit against CNN and Daily Beast for criminal activity. They are getting info from one of those charged in Giuliani’s Ukraine work that Nunes met in Ukraine to get dirt on Biden. Not only will Nunes not deny Maria’s direct question on whether he met with any one, he won’t even answer whether he even went to Ukraine. Something’s up and hope our star person on the Schiff committee is not in trouble.

In the spring of 2014, a friend tried to nudge Judge Stephen Reinhardt, then an 83-year-old liberal stalwart on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, into stepping aside from full-time duties so President Barack Obama could nominate a successor.
We all know what happened, he stayed on and died a couple years later of a heart attack while visiting his dermatologist.
Trump named his replacement. Hope the same does not happen with RBG.

Thank you and POTUS had a medical issue not too long ago that took him to Walter Reed that the press has pretty much ignored. But every time RBG sneezes it is reported as a health crisis. Yes she’s old but so is Trump.
