He’s running as a Democrat. Guess he is not a Democrat unless he runs for POTUS. Phuckem

But Pelosi is a political genius!

Could he make the motion himself? Assuming he doesn’t fold like a cheap suit?

it’s “increasingly important” for the Senate to hear from John Bolton.

After hearing from the prosecution and the defense Romney decided to wait for the movie version rather than read the book.

It’s the “establishment” that he is against. Apparently.

It smacks of the Saradonism that there “isn’t any difference between the Republicans and Democrats.”

You know…one of the attitudes that got us to the place.

I think what we may see is several GOPers come around to the idea that their only way to make anything of this or blunt the damage is increasingly narrowing down to trying to use it to destroy Biden. Watch the rhetoric and the Faux News et al propaganda carefully, as it will likely shift to indicate that’s where they are headed.

Nope. Per Rule VI of the standing impeachment rules, only “The Senate” has the power to compel the attendance of witnesses. That’s in contrast to Rule V, which gives “The Presiding Officer” – in this case, C.J. Roberts – authority to issue orders, mandates, writs, and precepts.

ETA: And even if Roberts could call witnesses on his own, and even if it took a 2/3 majority to block such witnesses (which isn’t anywhere in the impeachment rules), it would still only take a simple majority for the senators to block the testimony on evidentiary grounds, e.g., relevance, redundancy, materiality, or we just don’t like it. That’s Rule VII.

Does any one else think that this could be a trap? Dems want Bolton and think he will corroborate their side of story. However, it could be that Bolton simply exonerates Trump. Trump could be simply playing them.

(1) Is he phucking crazy?? (that’s one reaction)

(2) He will not get the Nom with this bullshit

(3) We need to plan for the Bernie non-Nom Aftermath

But if the GOP can’t put Biden on trial, what’s this whole impeachment thing for?

I was reading yesterday that there’s an internal and urgent discussion about this with the point being made that no matter what the rules allow you to get away with in the moment it looks bad to have a trial with no witnesses. This in-your-face corruption isn’t going to fly with a majority of the country. So they may feel they have to take their medicine on this.

You should put on your depends before reading Tom Tomorrow

He has been one gutless wonder ever since he appeared on stage. Maybe it’s part of Mormon “culture”? Offend no one; achieve nothing worthwhile. Mitt, go read a bio of Churchill or Geo Washington or Lincoln. As you are today, you’ll be lucky to be a footnote to our history.

Bolton should testify. But he’s a Republican through and through. Therefore, Democrats would be wise to remember that whether or not he tells the full and complete truth depends on what’s in it for him and his faction of the Republican crime family.

Ya know, the Dotard made a fool out of him in more than one occasion. Perhaps it’s payback time

I suspect he’ll only be calling his legacy to the stand.

Absolutely

I ordered them for back up.

MEANWHILE, has anyone told the Moron that there’s a possible epidemic in the country that needs attention? Anything?
