A federal judge sentenced Roger Stone — a longtime GOP operative and confidante to President Trump — just over three years in prison for lying to Congress about Wikileaks-related matters in the House’s Russian election interference probe.
Forty months for covering up criminal activity by the President of the United States. Imagine if he committed a real crime, like covering up for a bank robber. Forty months? No way.
So he got less than half the 7 years prosecutors suggested as a minimum, but we’re to believe the sentence wasn’t effected by the DOJ shitshow? Thanks to the judge for at least not completely giving in.
IANAL but it seems to me that 40 months, as opposed to 7-9 years, especially in the context of the Judge’s detailed deconstruction of Roger’s specious claims, makes a retrial less likely, and a pardon more hazardous for Fatass.
““I did the same thing that you’re doing now for 10 years. I protected Mr. Trump for 10 years,” he said. “The more people that follow Mr. Trump, as I did blindly, are going to follow the same consequences that I’m suffering,” he said.”
