What’s more, one of the immediate actions of Project 2025 is to defund FEMA in its entirety.
See, that’s the heart of the problem. The MAGAts I’ve seen posting online are relieved from the burden of thinking. All they have to do is plug in the IV to RWNJ media, and they get their hatred high, as well as plenty of insanely untrue and illogical talking points to repost to their fellow cultists.
This weekend I was so sickened by the lies and stupidity I finally weaned myself off twitter. It is a complete cesspit of horror, disinformation, and porn. There are a few reporters and authors I like who post there, but by now most of them can be found on other blogs. So, bye bye twitter (I will never call it “X”).
Right! The Post had a big Fact Checker article on it last week:
Alternative. Abolish Oklahoma. divvy it up to all the surrounding states, except Texas. Texas has been greedy already.
Then make Puerto Rico a proper state.
Save on costs in so many ways. Foremost, our flag doesn’t require a major rethinking of the stars. It just continues on. 50 states as usual.
A few points about the Oklahoma Bible Grift:
–Ryan Walters started this push to include Bibles in the official curriculum several months ago. The state Supreme Court found in a non-Bible related case that school districts had the power to choose what books are in their libraries and in their curriculum, so many of the large districts have already announced that they won’t be including the Walters’ edicts in their curriculum.
–Walters has appointed new committees to revise the social studies curriculum and has required that anyone who has seen the draft of the curriculum sign an NDA. Needless to say, he has excluded the actual scholars and educators from the committee. He has now also started a revision of the science curriculum. State law requires that curriculums be approved by the legislature after time for the public to read and respond to it. Many members of the legislature, including Republicans, have been speaking out against Walters for quite some time. It is unclear if there are enough members to control this.
–The “Bible supplier” quoted in most of the stories I have read is Mardel’s, which was started by the son of the man who founded Hobby Lobby. I find it interesting that even Mardel’s acknowledged that the bid seemed to be written to benefit TFG. It would have been easy (and likely not challenged) for the spokesperson to say something that obscured the link. (HL, BTW, is the company that sued the ACA for not allowing them to control their employees’ reproductive choices.)
–The Oklahoman, the OKC based paper that has covered this story fairly well, has historically been extremely conservative. They seem to have centered themselves somewhat during the past few years, publishing stories and opinion pieces that are critical of far right actions. I just have access to their app, which doesn’t give me total access, but it has been interesting seeing the broader take on events.
officials are also being forced to contend with widespread and persistent disinformation that is hampering relief efforts
What part of Steve Bannon’s “Burn It Down” don’t Republicans get?
OT: Colorado has a ballot measure that, if passed, will ban hunting of big cats- cougars, lynx, bobcats. I don’t mind deer and elk hunting, but trophy hunting stinks.
Ryan Walters wants a bible that also has non biblical things like the constitution and other American founding documents. He crafted his specifications so narrowly that only one particular bible will fit the bill.
After Six Days of constant lying, you’d think he’d give it a rest for a day, but no. The lying must go on.
One of the poorest states in the country decides to secede.
It wouldn’t make it past his fat ass.
That’s the move that ginning up huge gains for Truth Social: 17% so far.
Including a Constitution that doesn’t include all of the amendments.
Oklahoma! The King James version of the Bible is not protected by copyright. You can print your own version for practically nothing.
He’s positive that he has a “winner” here. If something comes along that he thinks will stir up his troop of baboons even more, he’ll go with that. He’s not so dumb that he doesn’t understand cost:benefit.
Bigly!
I cannot claim credit for that.
But I love it.
People have just lost their homes, possessions, or lives, but let me use this occasion to confuse them and/or increase their suffering. It speaks volumes about a large segment of our society that this could even remotely be a winning message.
