Though Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) admitted that his comments about Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch didn’t come out like he intended, some Senate Republicans are still not satisfied.

They’ll never be satisfied, apologizing for a statement like this is seen as weakness by the repubs; never apologize, they’ll never be satsified. When asked about choice of words respond:
“oh I don’t know, ask Trump” and move on.
If we retake the senate and this doofus remains in charge I might officially reach my limit of what I can accept.
Not all Republican senators are on board, though. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) noted to a New York Times reporter that President Donald Trump would likely be the next one up for a censure, if the Schumer resolution passed.
It’ll never happen (a censure idea failed during the post impeachment period), but I’ll give Graham credit for finally learning how to read a thermostat.

Schumer’s mistake was apologizing. Never apologize, double down.
Should have said, “If he feels threatened, maybe Roberts should examine his behavior and ask himself why he feels threatened by my comments. Innocent people don’t feel threatened when the cops pull them over and speak about consequences for their actions.”
If this is your threshold, you’re toast. Pack it in, dude.

EVERY article on this incident needs to do the work Schumer should have done for himself – make explicit that he was mimicking Kavanaugh’s angry words to Democrats during his confirmation hearing, “You sowed the wind and the country will reap the whirlwind.” It really changes the tenor of Schumer’s remarks.
The urgency to roll over and apologize is getting very, very old. Much like Chuck I guess.

This is the inevitable result of Schumer’s fear of offending moneyed interests, i.e. Republicans. Can’t stand that he’s the “face of the party,” peering over his Grandpa Chuck half-glasses, licking his lips, and back-tracking or qualifying any semi-liberal comment when it gets push-back. He’s no Harry Reid. Warren for Majority Leader, please.
