Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC), chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, reportedly told House Republicans behind closed doors Tuesday to stop holding in-person town halls as viral clips of clashes with angry protesters have caught fire online. The protesters, making appearances in many deep-red districts, have objected to the purge of federal workers and slashing…
The way things are looking, democracy is toast.
He should have never been allowed to run again.
Kafka wants out.
Edit: The graphics card on the wall is an AMD Radeon HD 7970. I used it for gaming, and to mine Bitcoin in the 2010s. The guilt of wasting CPU cycles on Bitcoin got to me. I liquidated all of my Bitcoin when 1 BTC was $100. I don’t really feel bad for missing out on the wealth that was completely undeserved, I feel angry at all those who are making money on the backs of the environment and fools.
History does repeat itself.
When it’s too absurd for Kafka…
Someone’s going to get hurt soon.
The current administration believes that everyone tries to fix the results so they will never accept when they lose.
What’s that saying: “History never repeats itself, it rhymes”?
But in this case I don’t remember reading or living through a time where the person who is POTUS is also an agent of a foreign country. Someone who is actively pulling our country apart and trying to sell off pieces of our government, i.e. government office buildings.
But what I haven’t seen mentioned is that DOGE is suppose to search for and find waste and fraud. And unless I’ve missed the announcements where is the waste and fraud that is so enormous that to recover we must shrink the size of the federal gov’t so that we can drown it in a bathtub? Where is the proof that these fired fed employees weren’t doing their jobs? Or were stealing from the federal coffers?
I still haven’t seen an answer to who is paying Elon’s peeps? And though many folks have suggested that all these actions that have been undertaken so far is so Trump can give more tax cuts to the rich, has he said so explicitly?
When you are faced with trying to defend the indefensible, run like a chicken shit!! That is the state of the Republican party. Cowards!
I wonder when all of this is going to sink in. I keep thinking about the consequences of the reduction in services that the federal government provides the context of international trade. As more and more products are unable to be exported because of lack of regulation and auditing, and more and more products are more difficult to import because of lack of people to do regulatory activities, and of course tariffs, this will lead to severe economic consequences. It’s going to make what is happening to Great Britain look like a minor cold.
The long-term sustain damage to supply chains is going to make everything cost significantly more, and reduce how much money each of us makes. It is a disaster.
both Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) hand-waved away the demonstrations as the work of paid protesters
It’s a good thing Trump and Johnson are genetically superior, or our nation’s security might depend on some idiot who thinks Russian missile launches can’t possibly be targeting us.
Do you also have the feeling that DonOLD will have Congress raise the tax rates to on us, so he can keep the lights on?
End of the First American Republic. Let’s hope we can create the Second American Republic in our lifetimes.
Now is not like when the Tea Party complained about the Dems. This new regime is authoritarian. They are ready to suppress any real push back. It will not be easy. We may be lucky to have meaningful midterms.
I would suggest Fat Nixon will, by Executive Order, declare martial law and cancel the mid-term elections.
Waiting for the master class in gaslighting to begin. Watching w/the sound off for obvious reasons.
We can count on all media lying to us in the meantime.
Nah. They’ll just increase the deficit limit. Why do the painful thing, when you can make the next democratic president do it?
Who’s paying them? According to today’s The New Republic, funds from the same agencies they’re dismantling.
