That is A) unconstitutional and B) a very Republican way of thinking.
I sent Cathy a letter today, shaming her. I wish she was capable of shame. I wish my neighbors were less bat shit and wouldnât vote for her.
Maybe better internet will help. Slash Ess.
The first principle of contemporary GOP politics is that there is no such thing âcognitive dissonanceâ when it comes to taking a political advantage. It doesnât matter what you actually did, only what you can con people into believing. âIntegrityâ is not considered to be virtuous in the GOP â the only virtue is power.
If the bill were written such that a Nay vote would exclude that district from the benefits as a Republican cost saving measureâ˘, the voting would be at least a lot more interesting. But as things stand Dark Biden has pointed out to MTGâs constituents that she did in fact vote against the benefits she is claiming to bring to her district. Local newspapers always like to have a story to print.
What has Tuberville got against the military? Heâs holding up promotions.
Careful⌠that would cool his feet on hot pavement giving him the wrong impression on climate change.
When the federal government distributes funds to the red states it is supporting free market capitalism that allows those states to pull themselves up by their bootstraps without any handouts from the welfare nanny state. (see, Morans for Medicare)
When the federal government distributes funds to the blue states it is pernicious socialism that makes those states lazy and dependent on the dole.
This is, as @thunderclapnewman may say, a very Republican way of thinking.
Maybe just add a provision that you donât get to claim credit if you voted against it.
Why did you vote no, Senator? You donât get credit for something you tried to stop, sorry.
God, I just despise these assholes. They arenât necessarily our enemies, some truly are, but their ideas suck. And they are most definitely not our friends.
Some so-called âsquadâ types voted against it. My congressman Jamaal Bowman was one of them. He takes credit for the it though. They deserve to be called out as well. They get a pass because the media refers to them as progressive. Not so this time!
Wouldnât it be wonderfully refreshing for one of them to come out with a statement something likeâŚ
âI am very excited to see $$$ in federal funding coming to our state/district to provide much needed [insert service here]. Although I voted against the overall bill that is providing this funding due to issues with [insert BS âproblemâ elected official had with the bill]. Nonetheless, our constituents are benefitting from this particular provision of the unfortunate legislation and as long as we donât have to pay for this largess ourselves, we should make the most of this windfall.â
Cornyn responded to one of those tweets, saying âYou bet I did.â
â1) because it was not paid for and thus grew the debt and 2) fueled inflation that is robbing Texans and other Americans of their standard of living. Broadband is important, but you donât solve one problem by creating two more. There is a better way,â he added.
Tweets are public record (refer to âsmegâsâ), but Iâd love for Corny or McConnell to say the above on camera.
I know itâs Texas, but the above is incomplete, without getting em on tape.
âTubervilleâ?!
Câmon â thatâs just a fictional town in a Dr. Seuss book!
Mr Potato Head as I recall. Came out as a toy as well.
Potato head sounded better than potato town anyway
Better ideaâGive the red states their share of the monies, but loudly and frequently tell them that theyâre getting the money despite the fact that their Representative/Senators voted against the legislation.
Or, just maybe, only return to these states the same % that they contribute in federal taxesâŚ
Blah blah blah this is morally wrong, etc etc etc, but yeah, we are TOTALLY gonna take the money
Or, just maybe, only return to these states the same % that they contribute in federal taxesâŚ
Again, not constitutional.
Why do so many so-called liberals and progressives want to punish red states and the people who live there?
Again, not constitutional
I dunnoâŚhas this ever been tested?!? ![]()

Why would you want to test a stupid idea that would punish other Americans for having GQP representation in Congress?
There are many liberals in those red states, and why you are interested in punitive ideas that smack of Republican vengeance and bigotry is beyond my ken.
They can claim that the interns or Betty the secretary writes the tweets.
A % will ask Bowman and other Dems about why they voted against it and theyâll do it on camera.
Why not Corny?
