Republican senators, who have refused to allow witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump thus far, are reportedly shaken in their resolve after the New York Times published claims from an unpublished manuscript of Bolton’s book, which contains explosive accounts of Trump’s direct involvement in the Ukraine scheme.
OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! Suzie must be concerned! Let the pillars of heaven shake! Let of ground open and free the four horseman of the porklips! Stop the PRESSES! The End Of Times has come!!!11!11!one!!!
They are ‘shaken’? Perhaps ‘troubled’? For Christ’s sake…they KNEW this. They KNEW Trump was lying and it was just a matter of time. This is EXACTLY why they didn’t want witnesses or the trial to go on any longer than it had to. They all showed up on the Sunday Showz clutching their pearls because Schiff had the BALLZ DAMMIT to cite a CBS report and it made them feel bad! They have thrown this country under the bus for Trump and McConnell…they are despicable.
You know, I only ever dimly understood people like Goering, who committed suicide in order to, as the expression goes, cheat the hangman. You’re dead either way, right? But I see now it’s a final act of will, a way to assert your autonomy. It’s that last shred of dignity you take with you. But of course we’re talking about cowards here. The ones with any courage or dignity self-deported a long time ago.
Was my very first thought - they won’t be stirred to do anything.
Except maybe to discredit this guy, taking their lead from Trump who will spend the day lambasting and assassinating the character of Bolton to the point where only shreds will be visible by day’s end.
Hopefully, Bolton has a security detail. He’s gonna need it.
Why are we only holding four Senators of 53 accountable for this? Hold all of them to the fire. I’d love to see Bloomberg come out with a commercial on this and truly ask the question as to how they can ignore the concept of witnesses, especially with this revelation.
They’ll regain their composure once they remember paying attention to a moral compass entails getting primaried in their next election. Or, for those retiring, getting banished to lobbyist/board of directors/book author/speaking tour purgatory and never getting any contracts.
I don’t think people like McConnell very much. First Trump says that he has all the documents and next Bolton admitting that it happened, is making his job very hard. It is almost like everyone except the Senate GOP want to see the evidence. How much more of this can the GOP take before McConnell throws Trump under the bus.
I am guessing the SOTU is going to be the end point. No way can trump not berate the GOP for doing such a horrible job defending him. That kind of public humiliation should drive the gop to remove, I hope.
