One set of lingering questions around January 6 involves events at the White House that day. What was the President doing as the attack unfolded? How did the President respond to his supporters’ actions?

Playing back scenes of violent “political discussion” at the Capitol as it unfolded indicates to me trump’s seditious state of mind. He wanted this to happen. He wanted Pence lynched, Congress (house and senate) members held hostage with zip ties…maybe killed.
He wanted this.
He wanted to keep power somehow.
And I think he communicated with the Oath Keepers and 3%ers and whoever to get this done.
Seditious conspiracy at the least. More like treason to me.

I remember that video. It had all the verisimilitude of a north korean prisoner of war video.
As he watched, he kept yelling “Sweet, Sweet, sweet!”
Did trump’s eyelids blink “Lemme outta here!!” in Morse code?
This wasn’t calm political discourse. Even trump said “They’re fighting for me!”
A riot is not “discourse”… it’s a riot!!
Lets us be clear about this. This was seditious conspiracy trump was in the middle of.
If it is proven that the overwhelming sum of Trump’s willing actions were to overthrow the US government from his perch in our highest governmental office, would the punishment traditionally be execution? Is there a more severe form of treason?

Hoping against hope that the Jan. 6 committee can produce dramatic hearings and a readable report that becomes a best-seller like the 9/11 Commission report. Even with all that, Trump supporters will no doubt remain loyal.
This is a man who was involved with Vince McMahon and the WWE. Do we know if Donnie knows that the WWE is really fake?
Article 3 section 3 of the Constitution about covers it, but sedition gets him 10-20 yrs. I’d rather he live in a cell like this… He can talk to the walls and the walls will listen to his lies without any back talk.

What else would anyone expect from a pathological narcissist? The danger in that, for Trump, is that he didn’t understand or recognize, or just felt he could manipulate, the strong streak of anarchism in his “base”. Interesting that some of these same people are reportedly separating from him because he isn’t sufficiently radical.
I theorize that the unsub, I mean Trump, got a thrill from watching the televised violence, and that stringing his aides along for a couple of hours as they begged him to call off the dogs before he tore himself away from the tube to film his video valentine was his way of enhancing his pleasure to the point of pain.
“Apparently, certain White House staff believed that a live unscripted press appearance by the President in the midst of the Capitol Hill violence could have made the situation worse,” the Jan. 6 Committee wrote in its letter asking Ivanka Trump to cooperate.
Same White House staff that packaged up sensitive Presidential documents and had them delivered to Mar-A-Lago? OK!
Been hearing about this for a while now. Sociopaths, of course, don’t care about things that happen to other people, but what’s interesting is his obliviousness. Most of his ilk are pretty clever at reading other people—it’s how they’re able to manipulate them. Trump is unusual in this inability not only to care but to guess how others would be expected to feel about things, and it’s more evidence that he’s actually pretty damn dumb.
New wrinkle at least to me is that the earlier, unused takes of the video were ones in which he never got around to saying people should leave the Capitol. I presume he did get around to saying how awesome they all were.
Might also wonder if he knows that anything outside himself is real.
