President Donald Trump has been discussing pardons “like Christmas gifts” to people who haven’t even asked, one senior administration official told Axios in a report published late Monday.

Put another way - “Everyone I’ve spoken to during my Presidency is guilty of a crime.”

So, if Trump offers to pardon someone who hasn’t asked for one, wouldn’t that imply that Trump is accusing that person of committing a crime?

If you wait until after Christmas pardons will be BOGO. Don’t be a noob, bide your time.

With my sincere, and warmest hopes that your immediate future be filled with thoughts of reasons to pardon so many of your friends and associates, I present this Griftmas present to you, DiJiT:

So what is the objection to DACA, which is simply a blanket pardon for the Dreamers (ones who committed no crimes other than accompanying their parents)?

For four years, the silence from the Republicans and his MAGA supporters about Donnie’s corruption has been deafening. It remains deafening.

The “D” clouds the closing salutation.

In some cases.

In other cases one would do it it on the off-chance they might be prosecuted, or out of spite for prosecutors.

And here I get the sense Trump is also thinking about scattering pardons about in the hope that the egregious ones can be hidden among the rest.

BTW Who would have thought it?

I think now he is just saying crazy stuff just to get a headline as he rolls closer to the end. I mean this idea is just looney. As mentioned does it not imply everyone, even just regular folks he has spoken to, committed some criminal offense? Or is just being around him a criminal offense in of itself? I think I just Incepted myself…my head hurts.

I think Biden should announce loudly today that he will pardon Hunter on Jan. 20.

He doesn’t have to mean it or do it, but it would make a lot of Republican heads explode.

Do people realize to be pardoned you first have to commit the crime you are being pardoned from? To accept a Trump pardon you will forever be labeled a criminal.

I guess after Christmas you get the end of season markdown and the pardon price is greatly reduced, maybe 50& - 70% off.

Besides the real possibility that DJT will not be able to function in 2024, this seems to suggest that he isn’t serious about running again. Granted, he may not have thought that far ahead, but it seems to me that giving blanket pardons to so many people actually acknowledges that you have engaged in activities that are, at the very least, ethically and legally problematic. Accepting such a pardon seems to suggest that you actually recognize that those actions were illegal. A president who has had such a lawless administration would face an uphill climb, especially with the demographic changes that will take place. What he may not realize is that the GOP won’t need him anymore; they’ll use Trumpism but not Trump.

Someone had a screenshot recently of the front page of NYT or WAPO or similar on which none of the headlines were about Trump.

He will do anything, no matter how stupid, how insane, how ludicrous just to keep himself on the front page.

For a while it’ll continue to be like the days when every damned tweet he wrote got plastered all over, and finally, a year or so ago, the news media stopped doing that. They’ll write about his temper tantrums and screaming and outrageousness until it gets old.

See, this is the thing that BLOTUS doesn’t get. Every show gets cancelled as soon as it gets boring and repetitive. And his shitshow is already boring but it’s running out of relevance.

“CANCELLED” scares him even more than “FIRED”

Not true.

Innocent people have received pardons.

Also people who were never charged with committing a crime.

Now that seems more likely!

The only one I am aware of who was pardoned without being charged was Nixon. And he wasn’t innocent.
