Report: Trump Has Discussed Pardons ‘Like Christmas Gifts’ To People Who Haven’t Asked | Talking Points Memo

This guy is using pardons to inoculate his friends and family from getting the prosecution flu, but he refuses to purchase enough real vaccines to inoculate the populus from COVID. Go figure huh?

It’s like he gets a serotonin bump from the idea that these people will like him for a moment.

Draft dodgers who fled to Canada during the Vietnam war were pardoned by Carter. People who participated in the Whiskey Rebellion were pardoned by Washington. Most of those weren’t individually charged before the pardon.

Trump considers everyone to be just like him. Cheating, lying, you name it, down to the depths of depravity, if he has done it then everyone does it.
So, sure, everyone would want a pardon.

So what’s the process for returning an unwanted and unused pardon? Does the pardonee get a gift receipt?

But, but who will pardon this corrupt idiot?

When Biden takes over, the concept of plenary pardons needs to be challenged, as he’s clearly not going to spell out specific crimes that he and others have committed. It’s never been ruled as constitutional AFAIK. Also, if he pardons himself, that too must be challenged. Certainly if he issues pardons for crimes not yet committed. This would include the very act of granting pardons corruptly, for which he’s created a vast evidence trail. The real question is whether Biden and his DoJ will have the guts to go through with it, or will pull another Obama to focus on kitchen table issues that the next Repub president will immediately reverse. Dems HAVE to do this. If they don’t, nothing else will really matter, not for long at least.

Anyone who disagrees and thinks it would be “divisive” is simply too stupid for words. We already ARE divided!

Can you direct us to the innocent people who have been pardoned? While Nixon was never charged for a crime, the evidence was pretty clear, that without the pardon, he would have been charged. Pretty much what happened to his AG. Recent history (IMPOTUS doesn’t follow norms) indicates that all pardons were for people that had been convicted, were charged or active investigations were involved.

In a famous case, the pardonee was allowed to reject the pardon and … was hanged.

Trump asks Pennsylvania House speaker for help overturning election results, personally intervening in a third state

He called the speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives twice last week to ask for help in overturning the election. Who is it that might really, really need a pardon?

I would like to take this opportunity to ask Trump for a pardon. I am not sure what I have done, but heck it sounds like fun.
