The House select committee investigating the events of Jan. 6 will reportedly request that a group of telecommunications companies preserve the phone records of Republican lawmakers, former President Trump and members of the Trump family who were involved in the “Stop the Steal” rally held shortly before Trump supporters breached the Capitol in an effort to overturn the election results, according to CNN.
But the list, CNN reported, currently includes Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Mo Brooks (R-AL), Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Jody Hice (R-GA) and Scott Perry (R-PA).
One glaring omission from the lawmakers that the committee is targeting in its phone records requests is House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who spoke to Trump during the Capitol insurrection.
Maybe he left his phone in the committee room and they haven’t gotten around to telling him.
Naw, from the bits of the call we know about, he was pretty pissed off at trump. I’d put him in the highly-unlikely category of being in on actual planning.
The 1/6 committee is very important. The American people, especially those with a squirrel’s attention span, need to be reminded of what happened and who caused/directed the shit show.
Cruz and Hawley want to run in 2024. Biden is their best opponent. I also can’t believe that either would be naive enough to think that an emboldened Trump, high off his 2020 coup, would just step down per term limits in 2024. The goons in the House don’t have the same presidential ambitions anchoring them somewhat to reality.
He wouldn’t have been term limited. Would have trotted out the evidence that the russkies stole the election in 2016, therefore 2020 was his first actual term.
Why no Lauren Boebert? LaBobo was giving tours to the insurrectionists in the days leading up to 1/6 and she was live tweeting the location of the Dem House leadership during the attempted coup.
