McCarthy is too much of a jellyfish to be involving in plotting a coup.

Yup. No reason at all for Roger to trust him to keep his mouth shut.

Could it be that Thompson is trying not to be seen as partisan? That Hawley and Cruz may run for President, and thus if they subpoena the phone records of these with being led to their phone records from the House Gang it will look uglier than Fox is getting ready to make it.
And didn’t Hawley before 01/06 declare he wouldn’t vote to certify?

Actually, we’d be better off if more of the public paid attention to the priorities as well as squirrels do.

“The greatest trick the Devil pulled was convincing the world he doesn’t exist”.

Last line from “The Usual Suspects”.

I was going to ask with this current cast of misfits who is Mr. Pink, Mr. Brown, Mr. Blonde, and so on. But then I remembered that was “Reservoir Dogs” which I’ve seen and not “The Usual Suspects” which I’ve only seen bits, pieces, and quotes.
I wouldn’t classify these miscreants as the “Apple Dumpling Gang” because that would be an insult to Tim Conway and Don Knotts. And they’re no where near as cool as “Ocean’s 11”, original or remake. And since no Mini Coopers were involved can’t compare them to “The Italian Job”, though I wouldn’t mind seeing Mo Brooks try to get in or out of one.

The committee reportedly decided not to publicize the names of lawmakers whose phone records they are looking to obtain.

“They better not publicize the names of those members of my dad’s FAMILY whose phone records they are looking to obtain, EITHER!”

I don’t understand what “difficulty” the committee would have in getting their GOVERNMENT-OWNED PHONES. Whenever I log onto my work computer, the first message is "this device is owned by ******* ". I can imagine a congresscritter’s mobile device has the same warning. And since the congresscritters DON’T OWN THE PHONES, they don’t own the metadata the phone produces.

What makes you think the members of Congress don’t own their own phones?

Why, these people have nothing to hide, so I’m sure they will accede to this request, and Hawley will volunteer his phone records without being asked.

The phones they are issued as part of their job as representatives ARE OWNED BY THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT!!! Do you get it now? I don’t count these co-conspirators as being very bright, and they are stupid enough to have used their GOVERNMENT-OWNED phone rather than their PERSONAL phone (which ARE NOT government property).

And why hasn’t the DOJ already done this (assuming they haven’t)?
