In another seeming intelligence lapse, dozens of people on the FBI’s terrorist watch list were in Washington D.C. on the day of the Capitol insurrection, according to the Washington Post.

Is Trump on their watch list now?

TBH, I’m surprised they even had pro-Trump terrorists on the watch list.

So, a truckload of folks on the watch list were being ‘watched’ and were traveling to DC, all at the same time. That didn’t trigger anyone to find out why the frick WHAT THE HECK THEY WERE DOING? I read mysteries and would have found that suspicious.

Total breakdown of communication and the nation’s security. Resignations should be already tendered. This is unacceptable.

Shouldn’t this scum be on the No-Fly list, too?

I guess they could have driven, but I am beginning to wonder just how broken the IC is when it comes to white supremacists.

How MAGAt infected are all these agencies? Biden needs EVERYONE interrogated and Garland needs to do dragnets, Day fucking ONE.

They were in DC, but just visiting, you know, sightseeing. Maybe took a tour of congress given them by a Republican congress critter or two. Just curious tourists. I think that was on Jan 5th.

We have a non functioning WH for at least a couple of years. Trump broke everything.

Yep…sadly…ETTD can pretty much be applied to the entire country at this point.

Bin Laden never flew any planes into any American buildings, but I’m pretty sure he still went on the list.

So just how does the no-fly list work when the the terrorist leader has his own 757?

The DOJ needs to form a domestic terrorist task force and the only way to do it is to start at the bottom with agents and staff that can be trusted to do their jobs. The FBI is being prevented from doing their jobs either through incompetence or from employees who are complicit with the terrorists. This has to be Merrick Garland’s first order of business. The DOJ and FBI can’t control domestic terrorism if any portion of their agencies are not dedicated to getting the job done.

Yup, at the beginning of his term I predicted that he would run the country just like his businesses -into the ground. People voted for him because of his business savvy when all they really knew about him was his Reality TV Show persona.

Yes, and the show was built around him being cruel to people, building them up and then tearing them down, publicly. The people that watched the show like that kind of thing.

And that STUPID tv show had nothing to do with successfully running a business. How anyone could watch that show and think it portrayed a powerful CEO is delusional.

CEOs don’t have time to stoop so low to attract the adulation of the ignorant masses.

Did the FBI have eyes on any of these terrorists? This entire debacle requires a commission that lays out everything that went wrong and everybody who aided and abetted the near fall of our republic.

It would be nice if the new Congress passed an anti-domestic terrorism law. Technically, there’s no such thing as “domestic terrorism” under federal law.

ETA to clarify: “Domestic terrorism” is defined under 18 USC § 2331. But that’s all. There’s no specific crime of domestic terrorism.

Sure they were being watched but, they’re white so, what’s there to see?
