I should say that I’ve worked with a couple of CEOs who acted exactly like tRump, yet they were successful in building and running the business (as measured by business standards of profit and growth and value). tRump has never executed that part, and he’s doubled down on the cruelty-feels-powerful part.
My friend who worked for him in 2005, telling me about hearing him in his office screaming “Diet Coke !! Diet Coke !!” when he was thirsty, waiting for someone to rush to the mini fridge and get him one - where the mini-fridge was 3 feet away from him - always makes me feel sick and violent.

The bulletin also says that at least one organization is planning to try a repeat of the U.S. Capitol breach.
Given that there are thousands of National Guard troops in D.C., I find that sentence horrifying – if they’re planning to try again with troops in place, it ain’t gonna be a choir coming to town to sing a few from Hamilton.

I’m pretty sure that the cop who got his head smashed in, the one that got crushed in the doorway, the one who is probably losing an eye, and the guy who set himself up as a decoy to keep the terrorists away from the entrance to the Senate chamber were opposing them. Some cops didn’t do their jobs; many did.

I’ll admit that I watched it for a few seasons. Reality TV was fairly new at the time and back then I really didn’t know anything about Trump beyond knowing he was a rich asshole who did rich asshole things. But I liked the idea of it until I realized how much of an asshole he is, how much he enjoyed hurting and belittling people for minor mistakes. Plus, I was really uncomfortable with all this “Mr. Trump this and Mr. Trump that” from people who were sometimes more accomplished. It just felt wrong.
