Yet another OT question or two. I just finished watching the Australian mini-series Pine Gap, about the joint NSA-Aussie surveillance facility in said location just outside of Alice Springs in the Australian outback, the biggest one in the world outside the US. It was an uneven series, realistic-seeming in some way and very unrealistic in other ways (top-level officials DO NOT discuss extremely sensitive intel while walking the halls with ears everywhere, I have to believe, but I imagine that paranoia is common among people who work in such places, including of their colleagues and superiors, given the nature of their field).
Anyway, my question is one, to anyone who’s seen this series, what did you think, especially if you have any experience with surveillance, intel and the military? Was it pulp fiction fluff or did it hit the mark? And two, is there such a thing as a quadruple agent, or does that just get too complicated? There are triple and of course double agents.
My reference to China and space exploration was partly to focus on the narrow field of interest in what I know and realize is a politically oriented blog site. I’ve managed to put nutzoid, conspiratorial pols doing crazy things out of my head and I’d like to keep them out.
Meh. Everyone’s weaponizing space. They’re just not bragging about it…yet. The politics of space is basically irrelevant these days, most people not giving a damn about it either way. and, I have no idea what a mass driver is.
Ah, looked it up. Basically a huge rail gun, for weapon or other payloads. No way do they build such a thing on the moon any time soon, without us knowing about it, and word would have gotten out if they were. So, again, not worried, and, again, I was talking about the non-weaponized exploration of space.
Lindsey Graham fits the description, but I very much doubt Rep. Allen would withhold that name if Graham was his “source.” I actually considered whether it might be Phil Waldron, but Waldron doesn’t appear to have been a JAG.
What makes you think that Bibi wasn’t the one who was compromised? I believe that he was. If his wife finds out, he’s a dead man. Word in Israel is that she’s got the goods on him that could destroy him politically, if he crosses her.
It’s particularly fitting for Megyn Kelly though. She’s the KKKult Harpy who threw a tantrum ON AIR vehemently insisting that both Santa and Jesus are white and are never to be portrayed or confused with being any other color. Clearly, she feels the same way about British royalty.
He very well might have been. I in no way said or implied that he wasn’t.
The key to kompromat is making sure that you have some on everyone.
Just as an example, Putin could very well have shit on both Bibi and Doucheowitz. If he doesn’t want to be the one controlling Doucheowitz directly, he might control Doucheowitz through Bibi by giving Bibi the kompromat he has on him and telling Bibi how to leverage it and what to demand.
No problem here, but if it leads to the indictment and incarceration of all of the protagonists in a way that allows them never to see the light of day or freedom ever again, I’m all for it.
Probably the sanest route, yeah. That’s why with this series, I’ve taken to glancing over the article, nodding to say ‘yup, those assholes are assholes’ and focusing on things like ‘hey, that sounds like Lindsey!’ or ‘holy carp, those drop caps are terrible’.
Unless Lindsey said ‘keep my name out of it, even to others in the party’. I doubt a two-bit Representative would be eager to run afoul of one of the most politically powerful Senators in his party. Lindsey may be a spineless git, but we all know damned well he’s a spiteful, petty spineless git.
Edit: Also, I admit, I kinda feel sorry for Rep. Allen for being named Richard. Most google searches for ‘Rick Allen’ will turn up a British drummer who got his left arm amputated after flipping his Corvette on New Year’s Eve in the '80s, and then developed a whole new style that included using his left foot instead of his left arm, and so had his greatest commercial success after the accident.
