I do as well, including vague memories of a house my family lived in when I was around 3 that is now under one of the parking lots.
But UMC was there before Banner. Selling it to Banner was one of the stupid things the UofA administration has done. But not as stupid as buying a failing on-line college and blowing a $250,000,000 hole in their budget.

Oh Man! I sympathise! I have had injections, and finally surgery. It helped, but a deteriorating spine just seems to keep causing problems. ( age, arthritic changes and disc problems)

Hang on…80 doesn’t cut you any slack. I do have a really good surgeon, though. His OR looks like a space ship, and he gets the job done pretty quick.

The greedy bastards are taking over our hospital system. Our local County Hospital , which was known as one of the best in the Southeast, with thoracic surgeons who were known to be among the best nationwide, and heart surgeons among the best in the country. A bunch of dummies on the “board” decided that it would be so beneficial to the County to have tax revenue from a corporate Hospital entity, and were conned by the then CEO of the hospital to sell it to HCA, a company out of Tennessee that is known for its profits over care approach to medical care. It has been a total disaster. HCA is making tons of money. Most of the good doctors have left. Entire departments have walked out. They are being sued by the State, and by private citizens who have lost loved ones due to understaffed departments .
All I can hope for is that this kind of predatory privatization of our medical facilities will result in government intervention and some sort of Medicare for all system that will run these ghouls out of our health care system.

WHY, why, why does anyone even listen to any of these stupid assholes?? All they are after is money and fame, and they cannot get either of those honestly, so they prey on the weak minds of ignorant people. You would think by now that even the dimmest intellects would know by now that none of these grifters are genuine anything, certainly not purveyors of christianity and the teachings of the man called Christ. And that they are dangerous to the very people whom they prey on.
