Raskin: Jan. 6 Panel’s Next Hearing Will Focus On Dec. 18 WH Meeting

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who serves on the Jan. 6 Select Committee, offered more details on the panel’s next public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, which fellow member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) previously said will focus on “efforts to assemble” the mob of Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol.

Have I mentioned in the past week that I am in love with Jamie Raskin?

This is what interests me most. Who paid for a few thousand mooks to travel from all around the country, paid for their food, their hotels, their burner phones.

Former White House counsel Pat Cipollone was among the Trump White House figures who vehemently opposed the idea. Giuliani and Trump reportedly opposed it as well.

Cipolonne? Sure. The other two? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Uh-huh. What year did they form that opinion, and how many months after the jan 6th invasion was it?

This sounds explosive. The J6C is laying it all out piece by piece. Things are going to get uglier and more detrimental for TFG with each hearing. Bring it on.

I imagine what Meadows was doing so intently on his phone and war-rooming was trying to get a reading during the Ellipse speech if Antifa or BLM were present. Chump would never have wanted to go to The Capitol if there was any news of resistance to his goons…and it was a real battle vs. a gimme.

You’re going to be there? Because I think it will be wild.

Well, Summer did use the word “reportedly.” Although there is another reference to it in the linked TPM article, I’m not seeing where that came from.

I think you could argue that out of the whole group, Flynn and Powell were the craziest. Trump is crazy in a different way. He’ll certainly say anything and do almost anything, but I’m not sure he believes as much crazy stuff as those two, and I’m not entirely sure he believes anything the way you and I do, in the sense that we believe some things are true and others false. That’s irrelevant to him, and meaningless, I’m coming to believe myself. Giuliani is more stupid and credulous than crazy. These are all just impressions, of course. Guesses.

Schiff declined to get into details on what the panel will present in its upcoming hearings, but confirmed that the next hearing will focus on “efforts to assemble that mob” of Trump supporters that descended on the National Mall.

“Who was participating, who was financing it, how it was organized, including the participation of these white-nationalist groups like the Proud Boys, the Three Percenters and others. And so we’ll be presenting information we have,” Schiff said.

tl;dr: “Yes.”

Whatever he was doing on his phone, he probably wishes now that he was playing games on it.

And, in a way, he was playing games…
