Raskin: Jan. 6 Panel’s Next Hearing Will Focus On Dec. 18 WH Meeting

TBH I was hoping this one was going to focus on the Willard Hotel war room. B/c that’s where the coordination with the PB’s and OK’s was taking place. Connect Willard and WH and it’s pretty much game over, isn’t it?

That’s a good point. Personally I got the impression from Hutchinson’s testimony that he was numbed out. He knew it was a disaster, but had gone limp, like a drowning victim who’s stopped struggling just before the end.

:grimacing: Accurate, but uncomfortable metaphor simile.

Not to further trouble your mind but can you imagine how Trump’s chief of staff felt as the day progressed? Your whole world is crashing down around you, and it’s certainly partly your own fault.

Oh, I won’t cry any tears over Meadows. He deserves everything that’s coming to him.

So does his boss.

I don’t keep up with Meadows much. Does anyone know why he left his Congressional seat to work as Trump’s Chief of Staff?

I guess he thought it would bring good things his way down the road.

He thought he could be a contenduh

I find it puzzling too. Abandon a relatively safe seat (with good seniority) for seven months as jared’s figurehead? Why. There was allegedly a House ethics violation due to his not accurately reporting income from a young-earth dinosaur park (really), but that’s not something that he would lose his seat over. He also doesn’t appear to be making any attempt to get his old seat back, which would not be hard.

I like it. Painting quite a picture, and I seriously hope that the “can we indict a former President” nonsense will be washed away by a clear chain of evidence.

She is Brett Stephens’ ex-wife, fwiw. I think she ran the book review for a bit.

How is it Meadow’s fault? I mean his job was do what Donnie wanted, not be a TSA screener for crazy trying to get Trump’s attention.
My theory is Mark was checking out rentals in countries without extradition. And watching the riot unfold.
I would like to know what the time stamp was when Donnie realized that this operation, like all of his other schemes went belly up?

Someone must have been filling their empty haids with sugarplums and a whole lot of cold, hard cash.

Just like in the second Impeachment Trial I expect Jamie Raskin will lay out the puzzle pieces to where we will be able to understand what the grand plan was and no wonder many Republicans in Congress are afraid of this man, especially those in the Freedom Caucus. When he and Rep. Marjorie Toddler Greene clashed during a House Rules hearing on guns, he told her very calmly, when she asked about his proof about the mob bringing guns to the insurrection, “Oh, just wait for it.”

It certainly is. Especially if you’ve read Sebastian Junger’s The Perfect Storm. Very clinical description of what happens when you drown.

I guess he was pinning his hopes on it all working to keep DJT in power, and America totally sucking forevermore.

We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.

Good ol’ Ben Franklin called it.

I don’t know. Who does? He’s not that great of a realizer. The root of the word is a thing he doesn’t have much interest in.
