Prosecutors Call Out Trump Delay Tactics In Jan. 6 Case - TPM – Talking Points Memo

Delay, delay, delay.

It’s been a mainstay of Donald Trump’s legal strategy in his business career, politics, as president, and now as he fends off prosecutions as a 2024 candidate. And prosecutors with Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office are calling him out on it.

Trump had also asked U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan for the District of Columbia to issue a ruling which would delay matters relating to classified material in the case. That argument partly came as attorneys for the former president complained that they hadn’t gotten their security clearances approved, and therefore couldn’t review documents.

Does the one Trump lawyer know that if you don’t send your paperwork in then you can’t get your clearance?
Trump is such a whiney snot nosed brat.

Maybe it’s just because the NY trial started, but it feels like the walls are finally closing in on Trump, and he knows it.

I’m loving it!

The Judge knows what the game plan is from Team Horseshit. Seems like having to parse shit thrown at the wall every day would make a person, even a judge, a bit testy. I’d like to see a legalese statement of stop fucking with this court and with the law soon, followed by some contempt stuff and some whacking of peepees.

I am all in favor of Fat Donnie getting more time when he is sentenced, that is.

‘Flooding the zone with shit’ is his go to strategy. Whether its legal or political activity, creating a steady stream of motions, propositions, and antagonizations let Trump sow confusion and claim he’s the victim of a nefarious plot by a dysfunctional court/media/political system

Nearly everyone in my family has served in the military, except me due to polio… Gen. Kelly has laid it on the line and I agree with him on this,

If anyone want to know why I dislike trump then read this article.
I want to see trump in jail.

I’ve long suspected that Trump’s standard, off-the-shelf combination of acting as if we inhabit his alternate reality and engaging in grade school level schoolyard bully tactics wouldn’t play in the fact-based world of a criminal court.

Trump and his lawyers are Jeff Spicoli. I’m hoping and praying that Judge Chutkan is Mr. Hand. Wait for it.

Thank god we’re finally dealing with someone who sees the bullshit clearly and exposes it for exactly what what it is. Would be real nice if just one so-called journalist was more interested in finding and saying the truth out loud than in maintaining access to right wing scum who will only lie and use them to get their bullshit out in the world with a journalist seal of approval.

I’m an Army brat (my dad enlisted after fleeing the Nazis and we were posted all over the world postwar and into the 1950s) and I was unhappily drafted in 1969, but I served reluctantly with honor. My father-in- law served in the Navy’s Pacific fleet during WWII where he contracted malaria AND yellow fever, which affected his lungs til the day he died. I have spent the last 50 years of my life working on veterans causes in various capacities. The most meaningful moments for me for a half century have been at Dover AFB for Dignified Transfers and meeting and working with wounded warriors and their families. We should not waste a breath on this lily-livered chicken hawk, to quote my dad. But we should remind people of what a stinking coward he is, with no soul and no heart.

I just read that article. Trump’s disdain for the military is disgusting. But then he has disdain for judges, prosecutors, DA’s, women, minorities, etc. A veteran’s group should put together a collage of what he has said about them and air it on Veteran’s Day.

It works politically. Some Justices are political.

The only person he gives a rip (self censoring there) about is himself. He can and will sell everyone else down the river. Wife, ex-wife and spawn included.

My family also has multiple members who served – and who lost their lives, their bodies, or their minds in combat and the horrors of war (including one who was napalmed by his own troops), so I welcome this criticism of Ol’ Bone Spurs.

But Gen. Kelly gets no pass. He previously removed all doubt that he’s a liar, racist, and coward.

My dad was a Navy pilot in WW2 and fought the Japanese on 110 carrier missions. My BIL was Army in Vietnam, A cousin was Navy, Mrs darr’s younger brother is career Army. Mrs darr herself is a Navy veteran. We served. I am not aware of any trump who has served.
Just sayin’

I was agreeing with Kelly’s current commentary on trump only.

Christ, Donnie is ugly, inside and out.

While I appreciate him finally - FINALLY - coming out like this, he and all these inner circle mfs propped Trump up during and after his presidency. They’re only speaking out now because they think they see the writing on the wall. Eff every one of them.
