The thing is, all these comments have been in the public domain for years, and Trump STILL gets the votes of millions of Americans. The problem isn’t him. The problem is a rot deep in the soul of our country.
No. The name of that one Trump lawyer is “Clarence D. Lay.”
Maybe in some parts of the public domain, but carefully hidden and not covered very much by the media. I don’t know about you, but every public place I sit because I have no choice (car dealerships, waiting rooms, etc…) Fox News is on full blast. Now is the time to shout this out loud.
The Special Prosecutor can throw a few sharp elbows. I am enjoying it. There is no excuse for Lauro not filing whatever paperwork is necessary for him to get clearances to read classified materials.
But the question is, will Trump be able to get away with the delays?
From that CNN article:
Trump’s former attorney general, Bill Barr, told CBS in June that “he is a consummate narcissist. And he constantly engages in reckless conduct. … He will always put his own interests, and gratifying his own ego, ahead of everything else, including the country’s interests. Our country can’t, you know, can’t be a therapy session for you know, a troubled man like this.”
But Barr also said he’d vote for him if he’s the nominee.
If the alternative is a Democrat, then sure, the country can be a therapy session for a “troubled” man like Trump.
Gaetz has formally made the motion to vacate the Speaker’s chair. A vote will be scheduled in 2 days. At first glance, it looks like there are enough GOP votes to sink McCarthy unless Dems bail him out. Dems aren’t inclined to bail him out. He has to first put the UKR discharge petition on the floor.
I guess there’s no rest for the wicked. And I’m tired of all the toddler antics.
It seems to me that the Trumper GOP wants to oust McCarthy and force the next Speaker to fully torpedo UKR funding. Dems will look to a discharge petition to fund UKR and let the GOP sort out their own mess. There isn’t a lot of interest in saving McCarthy’s behind.
He is melting down because everything he loves about life was in his NYC lifestyle. He spent his life pretending to be someone and now he is going to lose it all. Humiliation in spades.
John Kelly is a fucking asshole, but not a complete asshole.
Trump can make almost anyone look good.
It’s a low bar to defend the wounded etc. Kelly cleared that bar, belatedly.
Who knew!?!
Particularly now that the shutdown is at least delayed until Thanksgiving. If people were actively hurting due to House inaction, that might have given McCarthy more leverage with Dems.
He spent his life pretending to be someone and now he is going to lose it all. Humiliation in spades.

Those pieces of shit have and always will be there. What we need is for everyone, and I mean everyone else to stand up an be heard. As the old saying goes, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
At this point, I think McCarthy is more likely than not to get sacked.
Might it be in the best interest of the country for the Dems to retain McCarthy as Speaker, with the right deal of course?
I respect General Kelly’s service and the sacrifices he and his family have made but……he has sworn to “preserve , protect, and defend the constitution of the United States, against ALL enemies, FOREIGN and DOMESTIC. His oath, sworn many times over, now requires him to defend the constitution against an enemy of the United States, which happens to be domestic and a former President who continuously violated the Oath he swore. He needs to make his fellow citizens aware of the impending danger Trump and his cult pose, loudly and frequently.
General Milley’s remarks at his retirement ceremony make Kelly’s pale in comparison. There was fire in those few utterances.
I’m glad Kelly finally owned up to the truth about Trump. But he’ll never make up for his own contemptible deeds and words, to the day he dies.
