$47 million? Who does he think he is, Elon Musk?
I tried looking through and didn’t see it, apologies if I missed it. Did anyone confirm those films were made in the US?
I don’t know about that, but I’m guessing the target audience would have to be Americans—who else would be so gullible as to believe this loon was a ‘successful businessman’?
Apologies for the image, but I found this one the least triggering—his eyes are shut and his mouth closed. Looking forward to this being permanent attributes.
Won’t be the first time they told on themselves. I mean, Steve Mnuchin and his wife Cruella didn’t even try to hide that they are Lizard People.
Hopefully there will pennies left in circulation
Did someone stumble across the tv series “V” and think OMG this explains everything.
The OG Star Trek, Kirk fought them on planet that looked like Joshua Tree
I thought the lizards were a race of people practically extinct from doing things smart people don’t do?
That average American with no scientific training has no fraking clue just how really huge our own Solar System is, never mind near by solar systems (Proxima Centauri, our closest neighbor) or even the Galaxy itself.
With our present technology it would take us anywhere from 7 to 10 months just to get to Mars, and it’s only 55 million Kilometers away. So I’m sorry but as much as I like Star Trek and Star Wars I seriously doubt if we’ve been visited by ET.
"What do you mean you’ve never been to Alpha Centauri. Oh for heavens sake Mankind, it’s only 4.2 light years away.
Agree… Its a Mathematical near certainty that “aliens” exist in some form. Even if there is a real narrow band of temerature and radiation that allows it. There is simply enough opportunity.
It like knowing someone will win the powerball despite the long odds against, over enough opportunity the number comes up…
Now, do think that 90 million people believe in aliens because math ? obviously not…
Some people believe in “aliens” because they are smart, and some believe in aliens because they are idiots.
Solving for whichis simple by asking a followup… “Do you think we are ever have or ever will be able to likely to come in contact and communicate with aliens.?”
Exactly
Note: Voyager is only 0.000000000000016 light-years from earth in 48 years.
Surely we could probably go faster now, maybe even 2x the speed, maybe ionic drive can multiply speed over time compounding…but even at 10,000 times faster, thats a drop in the bucket
Alien visitors might be possible if they have a technology for constant 1g acceleration (adjust for whatever their local gravity is). With 1g acceleration and a mid-course turnover to slow down, we could get to Alpha Centauri in just 3.5 years ship time while 6 years passed on Earth. Relativistic time dilation with the right kind of engines is the key to us getting out there, or them coming here.
But each civilization still has to pass through enough extinction filters to survive, and be out there at the same time we’re here. Which is the bigger problem.
Any civilation smart enough to get here, knows better than to interact with us as upon even the most cursory observation, we are giant d*cks, as far a species go… our radio waves are far out enough to give them fair warning as they approach

Does Kristi Noem always either look like she is going to a cocktail party, or she is about to go on a raid?
It does feel interminable.
Lizard, or more generally Reptilian brains are real. And it fits in an allegorical metaphorical way. Trump is about survival, and sporadically, forced birth reproduction.
”Reptilian Brain*
The reptilian brain is the primitive and animalistic part of our brain. Also referred to as the croc brain or lizard brain, it developed over 100 million years ago. And it’s primarily concerned with only two things — Survival and Reproduction.
It controls all the life-sustaining functions of our body: Heart rate, breathing, body temperature, excretion, etc. The reptilian brain ensures that we stay alive and kicking, at any cost.
We can get upset about the shit with which Trump floods the zone, but it might be wiser to focus on the spreader technology than the content. Shit is shit. For several years now there has been building this notion that AI is digital asbestos. People may believe they have “friends” but they are friends without empathy, their own problems or unique gifts and charm. Moreover, we process data slowly, about 10 bits per second. Getting that information into another’s analog brain requires some form of communication, all of which are pretty show and inefficient. An AI in contrast doesn’t have to reside in a single computer or device, but can be distributed across billions of devices and move data at trillions of bits a second. There is a very big risk of further isolation, depression, de-democratization of political systems and even extinction of our species without at least modest acknowlegement of principles to guide AI. The precautionary principle is a start, but we also have the 25 Asilomar principles adopted in 2017 that have been rejected by Trump’s AI czar David Sacks. Keeping your cool in turbulent times is surely wise, but complacency in the face of recklessness is not.
At least they’ll all have to be made here soon since no films will be made outside that can get into the USofA because “tariff.” Maybe that wrasslin’ lady at the now defunct Dept. of Edumencation will make them required viewing at all schools…
