So, with 2 dozen dinners at a minimum of $0.1M per dinner = $2.4M of taxpayers money for effective meet and greet fundraisers. A pittance of money already thrown down a hole, but Bloody hell.
Its always something (like threatening no fed funds to states with mail-in ballots) every day with this so-called Presidency. I’ve got to turn up the music (no news) and get some work done.

I read Chernow’s biographies of Grant and John D. Rockefeller and found both of the revelatory. His books are long, but well worth the time. Have to get my hands on his Hamilton bio soon.

So … you may be skeptical of my qualifier (“generally reliable”).
Forced to explain, I’d say that, given his not being a trained historian, Ron’s take on the context in which his long-ago subjects lived is … slightly lacking.
On the other hand, he may as well be a trained psychologist, so acute is his reading of individual personalities.
If you ask me … his very best work is his history of The House of [J. P.] Morgan – but I agree that all his books are well worth reading closely.

Right on mr./ms space saver. Sullivan was A-Okay with the dotard taking $100 Million in defense spending for upgrading military installations here in Alaska and blowing it on the fucking vanity wall. He is still deeply in hoc to the Koch’s who installed him up here as Palin’s Atty. General after he helped Condi “mushroom clouds over Manhattan” create the lies and fake intell that Jr. used to launch his illegal war against Iraq. As head of our Dept. of Natural Resources he cut off all public meetings normally held in advance of decisions that will affect our communities. Dr. Gross needs to be taken seriously as an opportunity to rid the state of this dotardian sycophant . And Alyse Galvin could really take over our lone representative seat held for far, far too long by the odious Don Young. Time for a big change in Alaska. The economy is in free fall and ripe for big political changes.

Timely poll from PPP. Unfortunately they run a “democratic opponent” not McGrath in their test, but got Moscow Mitch at 47%, “Democratic Opponent” at 44%. But MM is at 41% approval,48% disapproval.
It is IVR which is never the best, but PPP does some of the best IVR polls out there.
$30-40 million in negative TV advertisements, combined with a few more points in drop for Trump’s support as we hit/exceed 150K deaths by the start of the campaign, and Moscow Mitch may have to go back to living off the Chinese Government money his wife has been pocketing.
And P.s. In Kentucky, using “democratic opponent” may have resulted in a point or two less than using McGrath (normally it results in a point or two higher results for the option). McGrath is going to run as a non-partisan candidate, not with Democrat branding, Mitch will try to do that.

While Moscow Mitch is benefiting from Russian help, I don’t think he is personally benifiting, but his wife on the other hand is making millions off chinese state owned companies, and is using her office to make more. Even the “but her e-mails” NYT lowered itself to look into this:
Lots of Room for Amy McGrath to run some really good advertisements. And before anyone says “but race baiting” well it is Kentucky, and that the listener hears what is not said, not a lot that can be done about that.

He’s a fully owned subsidiary of Koch Industries and it’s pretty handy to own a Secretary instead of a Senator. Those are a dime a dozen.
Also, I don’t understand why everyone seems to think this is Kobach’s race. Rep. Roger Marshall sure doesn’t. He’s sure painted himself as the one firmly attached to Trump’s ass. He’s also been able to use the pandemic hitting the meatpacking counties to his advantage, giving him visibility as he does PR talking about the fed response. Kobach’s “I want a private jet” really hurt him here, even though private jets are made here.
Kobach may still get the nomination. However, that doesn’t mean that Kansas is necessarily entirely full of fascists. (Oh, some are, of course.) Some may just be voting for Kobach because they don’t think Barbara Bollier (D) could beat Marshall as handily. Never underestimate the amount of nose-holding within those who vote in Kansas Republican primaries . . .

POS poll - no kidding here - done for Marshall by a POS republican firm shows he is now ahead. But always be wary of these kind of polls…
I’ll have to catch that one, too. Morgan was a fascinating figure, and I am fond of visiting the Library/Museum. Beautiful collections.

She won’t succeed in that. McConnell is definitely going to make sure everyone knows she is a Democrat. Its one of his go-to strategies. Remember Allison Grimes in 2014, and him forcing her to disown her vote for Obama as President?
