Supreme Court officials are escalating their search for the source of the leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade, taking steps to require law clerks to provide cell phone records and sign affidavits , three sources with knowledge of the efforts have told CNN.
Some clerks are apparently so alarmed over the moves, particularly the sudden requests for private cell data, that they have begun exploring whether to hire outside counsel.

I don’t think Joe will run again but he has to hint at it to keep TFG in play. That’s really hurting Republicans. TFG has put himself on the ballot like no other former president and it will effect the midterms. Presidents usually go quietly like Bush for the good of their party. TFG is incapable of doing that.

Leaders of the European Union agreed on Monday to ban 90 percent of Russian oil imports by the end of the year as part of the E.U.’s sanctions against the Kremlin for invading Ukraine.
This is a necessary move and it will hurt Russia a little bit, but it shouldn’t be celebrated while the EU and some countries like Germany in particular are still on the natural gas teat from Russia. They’ve made noises about gradually replacing Russian gas but so far it’s mostly just talk.
I know that driving the industrialized world into an energy-related recession isn’t a good thing. Continuing financial and military support to Ukraine requires healthy economies. It’s still frustrating to see such slow movement on the Russian gas issue.

If the rumors are true, they’re talking about universal background checks and closing the private sales loophole.
Which wouldn’t have stopped Buffalo, Uvalde or any of the other recent mass shootings, where all of the shooters passed background checks.

Regardless, a subpoena from any source is worthless if it isn’t enforced. If you’re going to issue them, there should be some process for enforcement; otherwise, it’s just for show and can be ignored, right?

New gun control legislation the federal government tabled Monday includes a national freeze on the purchase, sale, importation and transfer of handguns in Canada.
The government also is pledging to start buying back thousands of banned assault-style weapons before the end of the year.
While the proposal falls short of a full ban on handguns, it would effectively limit their number in Canada.

They’ve done over 1,000 interviews at this point and obtained more than 100,000 documents. Nothing is being held up or delayed because people that everyone and their mother knew would delay and stall are in fact delaying and stalling.
