Ex-White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on Monday that he received a grand jury subpoena from the FBI last week demanding records and testimony on the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.
Dude, that’s not how it works. The is a real subpoena, get yourself a real lawyer.
Navarro: “What? The Green Bay Sweep can be used against me? I don’t even have a lawyer!”
Have any of these subpoenas been enforced to date? They issued quite a few, but for those that have stonewalled, have those been enforced?
The hearings begin on the 9th. The committee should have all the information it needs at this point, no?
And how often will Crenshaw be confronted with his change of position? Probably never.
It’s why I don’t trust any negotiation with anyone on the Right.
Hell, I don’t trust any negotiation with Manchin. He pulls the same moves - give me everything and it’s still ‘no’.
Who put out the memo commanding these criminals to “ask to see the evidence against them”? Gym Jordan, McCarthy, Navarro, et. al. are all using this delaying tactic.
Haul their withered, spotty asses to jail.
In fitting Navarro fashion, he plans to represent himself.

The one against Bannon has been enforced, I think his trial date is in July. AFAIK that’s the only one the DOJ has followed through on.
I’m not getting too worked up over that, because the 1/6 committee and DOJ are running parallel investigations. The reason the DOJ isn’t following through on referrals for contempt of Congress for guys like Meadows, could be that they’re getting cooperation where that might damage their investigation. The DOJ is quiet on what they’re working on, and that’s just the way it is.
The committee may have all the information it needs to tell the story from witnesses adjacent to the principal players and scads of documents, even if they don’t have direct testimony from them. At the end of 2021 they had already done 300 witness interviews and obtained over 35,000 documents. They’ll have even more information now.
