Here’s the problem with that idea:
There are many out there who don’t understand how much the corporations have gotten away with over the last 20 years. They don’t understand the tax breaks and how much corporations have benefited from them being ‘people’ too.
I had someone this morning, when I mentioned the corporate welfare that #ditchMoscowMitch included in these bills, accuse me of not understanding how badly these corporations are going to be hurt by this virus shutdown and the pending depression. There’s no getting through to folks that corporations have other ways of generating revenue that the average person doesn’t have - cutting management salaries by 10% is much more do-able when the salaries are in the seven and eight figures, and not so do-able when salaries are in the four, five and six figure level. We can’t have stock buybacks. We can off-shore our incomes. But by all means, corporate welfare will keep our nation whole… are you kidding me???
