Ukko doesn’t think so. Given that the senate now tilts Republican 54 Democrats 46. (I count Fetterman as Republican now.)
Our best hope is that the Senate makes enough changes so that the bill has to go back to the house, and those fools never pass anything.

Trump, Miller, Bondi and Noem are taking on the United States city that has more people than most of our states. Do Republican voters really believe Republicans care about rural matters? That’s for the locality to handle.
Republican politicians will step in if there’s any infants in the area to deport, or if laws are needed to help donors hoover up every loose dime before the town turns to dust.

We need to have more democrats besides Doctor Senator Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bernard Sanders out in the nation, on the airwaves and internets, and on the floor of Congress, all saying this.
And ALSO saying that the Felon’s response to justifiable demonstrations in Los Angeles was over the top and autocratic. That he clearly wanted to trigger demonstrations, hopefully “riots”, with immigration raids on workplaces, so that he’d have a pretext to “call in the troops” and maybe even incite a backlash that would let him declare Martial Law throughout the nation.
Democrats need to be saying BOTH. According to the NOTUS daily Notice, the official response of the Congressional Dems is to “pay no attention to this LA thing; he’s just trying to distract you from Medicaid cuts.”
Which, if true, is insanely shortsighted and stupid. As if Americans are unable to contemplate more than a single thought per week.

ICE is completely out of control. They rammed into a sedan in Boyle Heights, taking the driver into custody. Oh, law and order, you say? There were also a woman and a child in the vehicle they intentionally struck. Even if the person is an actual criminal, which I doubt, you don’t endanger a woman and a child like that.

Maybe you should check in with Senator Chris Murphy of CT, or Gov. Newsome, or Rep Swalwell, Rep. Rosa DeLauro or Rep. Jasmine Crockett of TX. Dems are stepping up and speaking out.

I think the defeat is the consequence of brainwashing by two major religions that imply that only men are qualified to be head of the household. Only that explains why so many women, black and hispanic men, and of course, the hamas terror supporters from Michigan voted the way they did. It will be another 50-75 years before America elects a woman to be president. The Vatican might have a female pope and Saudi Arabia a gay queen before America has a female president.

Donald Trump is the most radical American politician of our lifetimes. I am trying to figure out just who he thinks he is helping. His best friend was Elon Musk. Trump’s policies jeopardize Tesla. He is beholden to California Tech billionaires. Trump’s tax policy has been hostile to the tech industry. He is actively trying to destroy the California economy. He claims to love farmers, but his tariff policy absolutely destroys America’s farmers. He doesn’t understand that American agriculture depends on selling crops overseas. He might like the oil industry but I don’t see what he is doing for them. He is doing all he can to make sure the cost of all home improvements go up. I mean where are you going to find a roofer. He isn’t doing the Republican party any good. The next election could be a bloodbath.
Could somebody tell me just who Trump is trying to help besides himself.

In Chicago, the sky, for the second year in the last 3 years, is overcast and the air quality is terrible because of Canadian wildfires. I mean North America is literally on fire and these assholes are repealing any measures that might help alleviate that. I guess we just have to live with unsafe air as the new normal.

This is a difference between Republicans and Democrats that I do not understand. Why do Democrats put their enemies over themselves. It is why should be Democratic voters are so uninspired whereas Republican voters are more motivated. It is because Republicans do what their voters want whereas Democrats try to be liked by everyone.
If Democrats ever want to win again, they need to help their voters. Trying to win Trump voters is mostly a waste of time and energy.
