Passing Big Beautiful Bill Would Mean 'Effectively Dismantling' Obamacare, Gutting Inflation Reduction Act

So, what are Dems supposed to say when what truly is a distraction is as bad or worse than what it’s supposed to distract from?

Many reports indicate that President Trump has chickened out on the tariffs against China. His taco cowardice is going to hurt American workers, farmers, businesses, and investors. Many jobs especially in manufacturing and banking are going to be gone.

Well there’s Putin, and then there’s Trump. DonOLD is too stupid to realize that what Putin wants will hurt Trump supporters. But then he doesn’t care about his supporters anymore since he got from them what he wanted.

I thought that was common knowledge. Of course anti-black racism and misogyny were two big factors in Harris’s loss.

Have Schumer just say out loud “he’s a piece of shit!
Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

You realize that Putin is now facing NATO without the United States and the Germans, French and British as allies are far more fearsome opponents than the United States which has never recovered from GW Bush’s disaster.

What nobody has bothered to tell Trump is Putin has a terrible manpower problem. He has lost about one million killed or wounded in the war and about an equal number of young men have left the country to avoid the draft. If Putin is really lucky he will be able to hold Russia together, otherwise it will probaly have China stealing territory in the Far East.

He thinks the rubes stupid enough to have fallen for his schtick deserve to be punished. Seriously,

Call them BOTH out! How hard is that? For exanple:

The First Felon is sending out ICE and Border Patrol to raid LA and other cities because he wants to detract from his failures to get his Big Bloated Bill through the Senate. And he’s calling out the military to further inflame the streets so he can maybe even declare martial law, and won’t have to worry about “due process” or even “laws” anymore. I’m outraged! How about you?

Generations of overly expensive consultants have convinced Democrats that We the Public can only handle a single issue at a time, maybe one per week or fewer. Do you know anybody this intellectual limitation is true of? Heck, even the maganuts can rattle off the twenty top conspiracies of the moment, any time you ask and often if you don’t.

Democrats have a habit of letting the most left wing elements of the party sort of rule their own roost, and not get involved beyond token statements against the common opposition, letting them be crushed in the end (or at least in the short-medium term) because they don’t advocate strongly for their positions.

See: climate protests, black lives matter, gay marriage/in the military, etc etc
and that ‘hands off’ approach frees the more radical elements to dig in harder, making their positions even less acceptable to the mainstream. It’s so fatalistic I can’t understand it. I think they see something as less than completely popular and back off when all it would take is a solid support from their mouthpieces and leadership to keep those things mainstream and on track. Republicans do that shit for even crazier lifts (like, getting people to vote against their own healthcare interests etc) and pull it off. wtf

You know, with Stephen Miller, the more I learn about that guy, the more I don’t care for him.

Saw something from rural California. ICE is targeting workers in the fields, beliving many of them are illegal. ICE might be right, but leaving the fields empty of farm hands won’t do a damn thing to help Trump with farmers who will lose billions or you and me who are going pay more for crops grown in Mexico.

I think you have hit on the reason Democrats have been losing for years now. They don’t know what they should stand for or why.

Russia’s Far East is sparsely populated, about 10 million people. On the other side of the border are 400 million Chinese. The Chinese already rent farmland north of the Amur River and have large presences in many cities from Magadan to Krasnoyarsk. China has never been as expansionist as some Western countries, but certainly the rich resources of the Eastern Pacific are attractive, and would give a more legitimate foothold in the Arctic. Instead, China might leave some sort of Russian colony in place, but allow for further breakup of Russia into say, Asia Russia and European Russia. We already see the yuanization of the Russian economy, so it might make more sense just to treat Russia as a vassal state or states.

My sense is that Trump, an addled 79-year-old, gamely tries to keep up with the words he hears around him. Elon, Peter and Alex have obviously tried to explain the rise of the machines, including crypto, blockchain, data centers and AI. About all Trump seems to have gotten out of that were some meme coins, but this Silicon Valley “Domination is Freedom” dogma seems to have gotten his limited limited attention long enough to generate a few EOs. Elon had him entering office talking about a half-trillion-dollar AI infrastructure project, but that seems to have faded. In any case, billions are available to those who have his ear at the moment. The crazy thing to me is that the Trump Administration’s AI boner has caused them to throw first principles such as precaution to the wind. The 2017 Asilomar Principles have been abandoned. Instead, AI czar David Sacks thinks just giving money and all government data to the private sector is the answer. Interestingly, when it does all come crashing down, these champions of AI plan to fly off in their private jets or rockets to remote locations such as their well-appointed hidey-holes in New Zealand and Baffin Island.

The president** is interested in one thing only; enriching himself and his demon spawn. The rest is just kabuki theater. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Saturday brings; perhaps the brown shirts will shoot some protestors; that will be fun.

Yes -whenever you are doing something terrible, what was unthinkable yesterday is the new normal tomorrow. I remember how shocked I was when I first started to see homeless people 5 decades ago. Now, of course, cities casually legislate against their right to exist and make every aspect of homelessness against the law except the actual poverty.

Keep the cruelty out of sight and we will be just fine.

The problem that always persists is that Democrats have failed to explain Obamacare/ACA to people like they are 6 year olds. Americans that survive on these social health needs are very easily lead. They are sick, take too many drugs and watch way too much teevee, and that means right wing stuff. So, then what will they do. From what I have seen and know, they will vote for the ones to take that from them.
