Parnas: Trump Allies ‘Tried To Keep Me Quiet,’ Pushed Me To Sacrifice Myself For POTUS

Indicted Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas charged on Wednesday night that his now-former lawyers, who are close to President Donald Trump, tried to get him to throw himself under the bus to protect the President.

All for Trump, and Trump all in for himself. Same as it ever was.

I’d be more confident in Parnas’ claims if he could offer some proof. He may be playing the “both sides” game.

I think we’ve entered a new era as far as people being delivered the justice they merit for misdeeds. I see no indication Trump will suffer greatly for his transgressions, and certainly will never spend a day in jail for any of them. Those below him, the truly loyal toadies and sycophants, will similarly slide by. It’s only if you betray him that you are pushed from beneath his protective umbrella. But commit the crimes you’re told to, keep quiet, speak constant praise and always attack those scrutinizing Trump and you’re golden. Barr, Pompeo, Pence, Giuliani could all be operating crematoriums for immigrant children just across the Mexican border and be safe from harm. So long as they stay loyal, do what they’re told, and speak in public with high praise for Trump.

It’s a sad travesty of affairs we’ve descended into.

If only 10% of what Parnas is saying is true, it’s still more than enough corroboration for an ethical Senate to convict Donnie Trumpovich.

Kamala Harris stated yesterday after the Senate oath-taking, that “the Senate will be on trial.” So true.

Parnas says a lot of things. Some things might be lies or bullshit. Somethings may be the truth. I neither believe nor disbelieve him. I accept what he says provisionally. Where there are documents to back him up, we are on firmer footing. In a normal world, the DoJ would be investigating all of this rigorously, but they either ignore evidence against Trump or stage lackluster investigations and throw up their hands and say “What can we do; who can say? The quintessential devil here is Barr. And if Parnas has done nothing else, he has caused a bit more light to shine upon our corrupt AG.

McConnell is on the record as unequivocally declaring he has no intention of serving as an impartial juror. Yet he took the Senate oath committing to do just that. A journo needs to ask him how he can ethically commit to both paths, and point out you can’t logically in fact do both.

I agree. What drives me crazy however is people like Jake Tapper INSISTING that ‘liberals’ are treating him like ‘Teddy Roosevelt’…whatever THAT means. I guess actually listening/interviewing someone these days is forbidden.

  1. Always be a little suspect.
  2. How is Parnas suppose to provide proof of what happened between him and Dowd when Parnas was in jail? They don’t allow those in custody to keep their recording devises.
  3. Everyone tries to CYA, but as with Cohen there’s some truth to what he is saying.

This makes perfect sense. How else would Parnas wind up with “A”-Team lawyers like Dowd (although Dowd is probably feeling this morning like he should go back to the instructional league)? Of course they were put in place to protect Trump, and not to represent Parnas effectively.

The thing that’s clear to me after last night’s interview is that my former over/under of eight for the number of lawyers to be disbarred as a result of their connections to Trump is way too low. We’ve already had two (Cohen and Manafort), and there will be plenty more to follow.

And it’s now difficult to view using Jay Sekulow as counsel in the impeachment trial as a good idea. Probably won’t stop them, since they generally lack top-tier legal talent, but it’s likely to produce results they don’t want.

That seems far-fetched to me. Why would any of the Trumpers think he would sacrifice himself for Trump?

All I can say is that if the Rethug wing nuts love tRump so much, they would think this guy is the cat’s pajamas. He may really help our cause.

What does it say about us when, the day after the release of Hyde’s text messages documenting the stalking of Yovanovitch, it’s the Ukraine, and not DOJ or the State Dep’t, that opens an investigation into what was going on?

Well, tex, there’s the pardon power. Ask Michael Flynn.

We will see, and have you talked to Manafort lately.
There has to be a tipping point where association with Trump, enabling Trump, will have repercussions. Trump is not innovating anything here, in fact he’s regressive in his methods and what constitutes his thinking.
When the underlings that keep propping him up all get indicted then Humpty Trumpty will have a great fall.

Under oath.

Under oath.

Under oath.

That’s all that ultimately will matter. I understand him going public. Before he could take an oath, he’d be dead. We all know this. He’s spilled everything before they take him out.

But until this is all discussed under oath. It doesn’t have enough legitimacy.

I wholeheartedly agree, with the note/caveat that when Parnas says Person X did Y, and Person X refuses to testify, I am slightly more inclined to take Parnas’s word for it, since it’s the only word being offered.

Seriously we don’t quite recognize that there are plenty of people who think he’s a legitimate president and want to plug their careers into that power. So he cuts a few corners, who doesn’t, amirite? They just see it all differently.
