Former Special Envoy for the Ukraine Crisis Kurt Volker updated his testimony for public consumption on Tuesday, making key changes to his recollection of his involvement at the center of President Trump’s and Rudy Giuliani’s pressure campaign on Ukraine.
I think Susan Hennessey’s comparison to Rod Rosenstein is extremely apt. Volker was perhaps never a knight in shining armor, but he probably could have served relatively honorably in a previous Republican administration. His behavior was indelibly corrupted by proximity to the orange menace.
He convinced himself he could come up with reasons to do just enough to keep Trump off his back, reasons that were not corrupt on their face, and that was good enough for him. Even though Volker probably knew that Trump would behave corruptly based on Volker’s actions. Just put your head down and don’t think too much about it.
ot somewhat
I’m wondering how mcturtle is going to keep the doors closed on the clown bus by the time the house is done doing it’s job and hands it off to the senate.
I’m willing to bet that he is hearing a lot of grumbles from the gop senators about where this is going. They might have been stupid enough to take this ride for a long as they have. But a bunch of them are going to jump off before the impact crash that is definitely coming.
my little crystal ball thinks that someday soon, moscow mitch, is going to the oval office and enlighten trump that his reign of terror is over.
Where have I heard of this scenario before? lol
elections have consequences and mitch knows exactly what that means, even in kentucky.
Volker addressed the discrepancies by suggesting that he had been enriched by new, previously unexplored “perspectives.”
What is truth, after all? It all depends on where you’re standing, right? Or is it that you expected that everyone was going to “remember” the same way, Mr. Volker?
Volker has also remembered that “all of us” at the meeting found Sondland’s behavior to be “inappropriate,” while saying that he, personally, saw it as “generic.”
Now, did the GOPers follow on their earlier logic that a generic collective “members” must include the person reporting? That was one of the dumbest accusations hurled at Vindman.
Seriously, it’s a wonder that no one’s called a bayonet charge on these idiots.

Welp, I have to say my perspectives are certainly getting enriched by these hearings. Enriched by the hour and by the minute. Way it’s going I’ll need new glasses and a gasmask to keep up with the enrichment.
