Oy! The Biggest Shifts In Kurt Volker’s Ukraine Testimony | Talking Points Memo

This is such an obvious lie. He might not have participated in pushing “Investigate the Bidens” on the Ukrainians, but there is no chance he did not know “Burisma” was a synonym for “Biden.” Rudy was spewing all over the media about it back in the spring, so much so that he ended up publicly cancelling his previously announced trip to Ukraine because of public outrage that the president’s personal lawyer was digging for dirt on Biden and Burisma in Ukraine. And it is basically inconceivable to me that there are no emails, texts, or other records documenting that Volker knew perfectly well what was going on.

And he doesn’t really even appear to have any great need for continuing to lie, when his true story is probably that he was yet another staffer who knew what the president wanted to do (“Investigate the Bidens!”) was wrong and who instead tried to steer it into something less bad (“Announce a generic investigation into corruption!”). He should just tell that story and walk away from the game. Instead, he’s killing whatever is left of his former reputation.

While he’s under that bus, Rudy should be asked if there are any holes in the gas tank.

Sondland’s going to be plenty happy to underbus Volker tomorrow on the fact that Volker knew perfectly well what “Burisma” and “investigations” meant in practice.

It’s now called “refreshing your recollection.”

And here I thought SONDLAND’S testimony tomorrow was going be the one oozing with insincerity. There is enough oil on this guy to lubricate every engine in the Sixth Fleet.

Volker sounds willfully blind, to me.

I really don’t think this afternoon’s testimonies are helping Trump or the Republicans in the least.

Do real time TV ratings even exist? He’s making it up. And if he’s not, then he is just stupid to bring it up.

It’s how you know Volker is a “professional”, and Sondland isn’t. Volker’s full of it, but probably gave himself enough plausibility to avoid a perjury charge.

Fox talking point, as I understand it.

I have no doubt. I think he just thought that he had to say something. He seemed to accuse others of grubbing for attention so it’s sort of complementary. He’s a buffoon.

“Since these events, and since I gave my testimony on October 3, a great deal of additional information and perspectives have come to light,” Volker wrote.

Nunes was right. After watching this guy Castor question the witnesses, the NFL can’t very well sleep soundly knowing the Super Bowl will be the second most watched event after this round of questioning.

Such obvious lies. With evidence such as the text below, why is he even trying to spin and lie the way he is?
