Dr. Rick Bright, a top public health official at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) whom President Donald Trump removed this week, spoke out against the Trump administration’s dismissiveness toward science amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of today more U.S. citizens will have perished from COVID 19 than the number of votes that tipped the Electoral College to trump
Unfortunately, they weren’t the same guys

Now if we can just get the NYT to see that criticizing their candidate trump is ok, and this is news to be covered. Then npr will cover it.
Glad to see someone in the government willing to be honest about what is happening. Now if we can get fauci - who as 78 years old already has a pension to resign and tell the full truth, whole truth, nothing but the truth before November.
At this point the argument that it can be made better, trump controlled from the inside by keeping your job is an ethical cop-out. If you don’t blow the whistle you are complicit.

In part they are. Trump won seniors by 7% over Clinton. Seniors Are dying at the highest rate. Seniors are also the demographic group with the largest swing awaits trump: Biden is currently winning them by 6-10 points depending on which poll you look at.
So it is not just killing seniors, but seniors knowing trump’s incompetence is killing them, which may kill trump.
All other modern industrialized countries have the virus somewhat. managed, have the proper PPE, have populations that don’t defy medical science. The death rate in these countries (with the exception of Sweden) is far below that of the US.
When the problem became apparent, they took aggressive measures to combat the problem, including testing, tracing, isolating.
We didn’t. Why? Because of one man and his personal interests.
The President and his enablers believe that Covid-19 is a P.R. problem. This administration rejects science so it is not surprising that Dr. Bright was demoted in an attempt to muzzle him. Right now per Worldometers, 78,834 deaths in the U.S.A. There is no plan to manage this pandemic and no plan for ramped up testing, tracing and isolating except in the WH itself.
What folks need to understand is that the only difference Donnie recognizes between himself and folks with degrees after their names is their ability to influence others in certain situations.
He doesn’t see that their knowledge might offer meaningful guidance.
To him, their only use is as props and add-ons to lend credibility to his proclamations. (ed.)
Dr. Bright, a man with impeccable scientific credentials, was shunned and dismissed by this Administration for adhering to the highest standards of scientific inquiry.
Subsequently we find out Trump’s personal valet, two Pence aides, Ivanka’s personal assistant, and Melania’s assistant have Coronavirus.
I’m sure Dr. Bright has too much integrity and is far too classy to let out a little smirk. But I wouldn’t hold it against him.
Frustrated, but with plenty of gruntle left in him.
If they’re backing the open up movement and going with masking as a political symbol, it’s only a matter of time.
