Nope. They win no matter what as far as they’re concerned. BLM embarrasses itself and gets caught pushing the race card where it doesn’t apply AND/OR Carmine’s and the vaccine mandates take some punishment and alienate would-be Dem voters in the black community. Meanwhile, none of it will change whether 3 black people get prosecuted for assault.
This kind of story is why it is hard to credit the idea that we’ve heard the last about Trump’s corruption. Every time something like this becomes public it is like turning over a rock and seeing the bugs that are underneath. Even when Trump isn’t directly involved himself, there is something corrupt swirling around him, simply because he seems to attract those kinds of crooks and their schemes. He’s like a “strange attractor” for corruption.
I would occasionally see Doug Wead on the television during the W and Obama eras. He was your typical for the time Michael Gerson, David Brooks as the phrase was known compassionate conservative. They advocated for using more faith based institutions to tackle social problems. Gerson and Brooks became never Trumpers while Wead smoked some bad Trump stuff and got on his bandwagon.
Prosecutors say in the indictment that Benton and Wead “concealed” the alleged scheme from Trump, which involved taking $100,000 from an unnamed Russian businessman in exchange for a photo op with Trump himself
The whole Republican party has boiled down to con artists and rubes. Here is one test to determine if someone is a rube or a con artist.
Rubes refuse to take the vaccine. The con artists took it 5 minutes after it became available.
