Ohio Republicans Use Last-Ditch Gambit To Infuse Ballot Proposal With Anti-Abortion Language

Two people who know…Bill Browder and Fiona Hill…are saying Prigo was killed on orders from Putin.

And Frank LaRose is who exactly? Who gives a shit what he says in cyberspace.

Some people speculate that he damaged his nose from years of cocaine abuse and more recently Adderall abuse, thus needed surgical intervention.

ALL the smart and informed talkers I listen to say the same thing. But I’m sad that a number of innocent lives were sacrificed including the airline’s crew.

Pretty significant with his thumb permanently in our eye and on the scale.

Is the Republican effort to twist and re-write being covered in the press the way it should be. Once upon a time in Missouri politicians would have been afraid to pull this anti-Democratic bullshit for fear their names would be forever tagged to the effort. I guess the press is so subdued in Missouri that they can openly cheat.

The most likely Republican to run against Sherrod Brown in 2024:

Watching him beaten over and over in the Ohio abortion amendment fight is a real pleasure.

I don’t remember that, but I do remember that he nearly lost his arm fighting in Italy. He didn’t have its use the rest of his life. He was a genuine American hero and he used that status to get elected in Kansas.

It’s being covered somewhat, mostly on the non-traditional media. They’re not afraid to be seen as anti-democratic because they’re doing the Lord’s work. And Republicans have been in charge of the legislature for 20 years.
I hate when they turn on dime and condemn something that they pushed through 8-10 years ago.

So many despots making their bones on the backs of constituents. Shoulda stayed in the Army where he could shoot people.

LaRose I’d never heard of, but Brown will prevail. How do I know? It’s in my bones.

Republicans on the state level on very red states are acting as reprehensible as the Michigan ones. Party of liars, thieves cheats and grifters. I will never vote for anyone in that part ever again. I have always considered myself a leftist pragmatist and have voted for republicans here and there but never ever again.

I’m not as confident.

Tim Ryan was an excellent candidate to run in Ohio against JD Vance (who basically ran on his Hillbilly Elegy book and Peter Thiel money). Ryan still lost by 6 pts.

Brown (being the incumbent) has a better chance than that, but its getting harder for any Democrat to survive in Ohio each year. Watching LaRose piss off Democrats now makes me more confident they’ll turn out in 2024 to keep him out of the Senate.

If you’re in OH and it sound like you are, you’d know better. But I’d agree an incumbent of either party always has a better shot.

He made some major strategic mistakes by not shoring up his blue area base. But then again turnout has suffered greatly in our major blue islands due to indifference - even Issue 1’s defeat was hampered by pathetically low turnout in some of Cleveland’s urban wards and others elsewhere. It’s a now chronic issue which needs to be long term addressed. Hopefully later this year pot and women’s reproductive rights will drag each other over the finish line. Until the next set of dirty GQP tricks.

With great relish he told the funniest brutal apt political joke of the last century:

“What do you have when you have Ehrlichman, Haldeman, and Nixon in a room together?”
“Hear no evil, See no evil, and Evil!”

I liked him well enough compared to Nixon and Reagan and their backers, but I emphasized textwould never have imagined voting for him.

True, but I’m pessimistic about Cleveland. Cuyahoga County has continued its population descent from it’s peak in the 70s, now being the second largest county in the state behind Franklin County. I believe the Cleveland metro area (including Akron and Canton) is still technically larger, but that whole area is pretty stagnant. It’s really the Columbus (and a little the Cincinnati) metro areas that have kept growing (call it the I-71 growth corridor):

However, I’m still hopeful because of data points like this:

If this new Issue 1 (Abortion Access Amendment) wins in Delaware County in the fall, Ohio Republicans are going to need some Pepto bismol.

Zillow reports ⁦

@realDonaldTrump

⁩ sold Mar-a-Lago to Don Jr for $422 million before the old man’s latest arrest The price seems greatly inflated. Trump bought it, furniture & all, with an unrecorded $10 million mortgage. There’s a tax story, and maybe a tax crime in this.
